Finally, I bought and installed Deka X6 fans in my upstairs rooms with ceiling height of about 8.5 feet. It's not *too* bad. At least I can't touch the bottom of the fan (the middle part) without tip toeing.

I didn't cut the tube. Installed as is. I will measure tomorrow to see what is the total height of the fan.
9.4 feet shouldn't be a problem for any fan. |

QUOTE(Jo_da48 @ Nov 7 2011, 11:40 PM) Maybe I feel unsafety if below 1 feet when i raised my hand I think the Deka X6 is only 11". So from 9.4', you still have 8.4' height. Should be ok la. For my case, 8.5' original height, with the X6, still need to tip toe to touch the bottom of the fan. So that's already 5" or 6" gap if I don't tip toe and I'm 5'7". How tall are you? QUOTE(noien @ Nov 7 2011, 11:42 PM) but heard some comment say that it is not very durable.especially the wing:( How so? The wing will break off??QUOTE(cvshi515 @ Nov 8 2011, 10:41 AM) Hi Sifus, I think you need to get those simple fans that can have a longer rod so that you have enough clearance from the slope. Manufacturers like Alpha, Deka all sell longer fan rods. I think from 36" (3 feet).I have a challenge for installing a ceiling fan on my common area which have a 45 degree roof (with airwell). The area is around 10x10 ft. Will it be ok to install a normal 56" ceiling fan? I am afraid the fan blade will be hitting the plaster ceiling. Any recommendation? |

I see. I guess direct sunlight is too much for plastics. My wife left her smart tag on the window of her car, and the touch n go card warped!

QUOTE(Jo_da48 @ Nov 8 2011, 11:24 AM) Cant be 11", because the pipe itself default came with 1 feets (I measured it at the shop itself) Deka X6 fan - I measured from ceiling to fan blade, about 12.5". To the bottom of the fan (the middle bit) add another 3". ANywhere, I will search and see what the secure level should be before deside it lol So far, so good. Only moved in 2 days. |
