If I am not wrong, KDK and Panasonic fans are makde from the same source.
I noticed the design looks identical.

I am using ceiling fan with built-in lights from fanco

Been shopping around for a ceiling fan too.
According to one of the friendly salesman, (ie read at your own risk, disclaimer qualified)

1. Vento- designer brand, made in Taiwan
2. Fanco- Singapore brand made in China
3. Crestar- German technology, made in Taiwan (claims to have an aluminium engine)
4. Amarsco- made in Taiwan.
5. Acorn- made in Taiwan
6. Elmark- china made

According to him, the Taiwanese ceiling fans are considered the best globally.
I'm not too sure how true that is.

When we asked about the trusty KDK, he claims that KDK is strong in industrial fans and ventilators.
Apparently KDK used to manufacture their fans in Malaysia, but have recently shifted to China.

I'm using a fanco in my living room for past 4 years. Some metal parts are rusting a little.
otherwise, it is working well.
See the photo here

We recently booked a Acorn 218 ceiling fan with house-brand LED lights add-on for our bedroom.

how about vento fan? its an italian made fan and distributed by Oxy One company. i heard it can spin reverse in order to absorb the heat in the house..

Hi Redrose,

Yes I have heard of the reverse fan, but it is normally used in winter... i think

Glad you asked about Vento. Have not seen anyone mentioned it here.
Vento is an Italian Ceiling fan label, made in Vietnam. In Singapore it is distributed by amasco.

We fell in love with Vento's Mela. cost SGD1000+.
The blades will open up automatically when switched on and retract back when switched off.
But after a detailed ceiling fan comparison we did not get it.

hi this is an interesting discussion.
we almost bought a vento-melon ceiling fan for 1200 dollars, which was indeed a piece of art.

Eventually, we decided to be more rational and chose something between price and asethetics.
From 2 months of shopping, we worked out a ceiling fan comparison chart showing prices, specifications and performance.

I came across Panasonic F-M15H2, with Econavi and Yunaragi function.
Any forumers used these fans before?

It's pretty pricey, ranging from 300~400 per unit.

A lot of the nicer looking Taiwan-made ceiling fans with light kits are costing about that range now.
Was told that Crestar, armasco and acorn are all made in Taiwan.

hi all, i wish to change my ceiling fans and need advice from all.

1. Based on u guys experiences, in terms of

- reliable

- with good quality motor, resilient over long hours(eg. more than 8 hrs) of continuous spinning

- very stable connection to the ceiling even after long hours spinning

- silent

- 3 wings and with relatively sleek and modern look.
i heard KDK is the most reliable, but i also read some users with bad experience with KDK..
Which brands are recommended, for above requirements ?
And any picture can be shown ?
2. Existing brand is National, need to replace with a new one, of regular type fan.  But how do i know whether the existing hook which original support the National fan, is enough for the later new ceiling fan ?
i worry that when my fan installer come he might have problem with the installation when he dismantle the old one.

( as i haven't decided which brand to go yet for the new one)
3. If the fan with the cover near the ceiling part look like half side "senget" (last time the edge of cover all tightly-close to the ceiling)  a bit
and the screw which connects the cover and the "neck" got loosen, it that dangerous ?
Because the existing National fan at my living room have this issue.
4. Fans with metal blade better, or non-metal blade better ?
thx.
