It’s my first house hence I have no experience in finding for the right ceiling fans. My ceiling is low as it’s an apartment. I’m thinking of Panasonic Bayu 3 or 4. I don’t need super fancy looking but so long it looks fine with a Muji theme house then I’m OK, prefer matte colour though. Based on my Google finding, lesser blades gives stronger wind but is noisier than the ones with more blades. Is this true? I will have aircond installed as well, so not sure if I will need super strong wind? The reason I thought of Panasonic is because of the branding and of course KDK is a reliable household brand but the cheaper ones don’t look good and the more expensive ones are beyond my budget.

QUOTE(ceo684 @ Feb 22 2021, 03:21 AM) Do not be fooled by the branding. Thanks for the reply but KDK fans are expensive and out of my budget. In 2014, I bought a 2014 Bayu 4. This is OK until today. After some years and a certain factory initiate extreme cost cutting.. *I've a 2018 Pana windless wonder Bayu 4. It is the biggest regret buying it (I got it from top ten Puchong). Installed 2019 due to only VP in 2019. Had no idea it was such a lemon. Out of warranty. Initially installed in living room. Windless. Took down. Installed in bedroom. Windless. Took down. Installed in smallest room. Windless also. Gave up uninstalling and installing it. Anyone want to buy this Bayoo 4 windless wonder? I sell 40% off full set including box and receipt and all the screws (40% off from whatever shopee/lazada electrical store/dealer price). Hardly used (total runtime probably less than 5 weeks in its lifespan) Windless=set to max speed can't even blow a tissue off the table. No other fan is so windless (even those 3 blade regulator ones are much better). Suspect the blade design is wrong from the factory but too poor to launch an investigation or class action lawsuit The 10-20 bucks of savings from the KDK equivalent (300 dollar 4 blade remote fan) is NOT worth saving. Once gotten a lemon Bayoo 4 it is hard to dispose off. KDK (especially the higher ranges Vtouch Jr/Sensa 4) Bayoo 4 *since then, every single fan is KDK and never failed to blow tissues all around the place. I can get around RM 275 for Bayu 4 but KDK ones are more than RM 400. If I were to get one unit only I will close both eyes and get KDK but I’m getting four units so it’s really not easy to convince myself. I appreciate your feedback on Bayu 4 and I guess I will need to find for other options then. Any other recommended brands for restricted budget? Wait, how about KDK K14XZ PBR? I found on Shopee though. This post has been edited by fruitie: Feb 22 2021, 04:37 AM |

QUOTE(hirano @ Feb 22 2021, 10:54 AM) If u have budget constraint, then how about the old school regulator type? Instead of remote. They're much cheaper and durable https://shopee.com.my/product/155109231/492...17-1613962444.9 I will most likely go for KDK K14XZ PBR. I have calculated my budget and it is still within my acceptable range. I don't think I will spend anything above RM 400-500 for a ceiling fan since I have airconds as well. |

QUOTE(blanket84 @ Feb 22 2021, 01:29 PM) Why not Alpha? You have plenty of choices to choose from with your budget and they come with good looking design. My first time hearing this brand though I saw them on online shopping platforms. Is it a reliable brand with good after sales service? I'm looking at around RM 300. QUOTE(ceo684 @ Feb 22 2021, 01:56 PM) KDK K14XZ PBR will work fine for a sub 300 bucks range (remote fan). Next step is Vtouch Jr (405 bucks for the yuragi and ABS blade). Although, price-performance value (if in store room or guest room that hardly used) that 60" regulator (due to the 60") has very good "cfm per dollar". OK, I will put this KDK as my first choice while checking out Alpha models. |

QUOTE(blanket84 @ Feb 22 2021, 02:26 PM) They don't have the long history of KDK or Panasonic, but pretty established local brand with presence over 20 years++ in Malaysia. Noted, I will check it out and compare the pricing and hopefully some other reviews online.Reliability wise, you have to ask around since every people have different story, but after sales service should be good since they are Malaysian based company. I was convinced to buy Alpha due to my sister's experience using Alpha in her house for the past 10 years. So far no major problem and the fans still running fine even though some of the parts has been replaced over the time. With proper care (like my sister & brother in law did), the fan still looks like brand new after 10 years, not even color faded. But then hers was glossy black colour, not white as white might become yellowish after some time. But 10 years that's pretty good actually. |

QUOTE(ceo684 @ Mar 1 2021, 12:12 PM) If space permitting, don't put the downlight holes so close to the fan blade zone, then there will be no disco effect. Do you have any suggestion for around RM 300 for small or baby LED fan? I went over to collect my keys over the weekend, checked out my smallest room, space is an issue. So I wanna use LED fan instead. It should be stagnant right? So shouldn't make me dizzy? Any thought on this?[attachmentid=10800182] LED fan is a solution when (only one combined light/fan point) or space not permitting. However w.r.t replacement of the light bulb.. |

QUOTE(ceo684 @ Mar 1 2021, 08:42 PM) https://www.lazada.com.my/products/nsb-n-de...1769476662.html NSB around 399. Actually the thing is at one point in the 90s having fan with lights was a trend. Nowadays that trend evolved to "dont' want lights on the fan". The light will be static (as it is mounted on the center core). Even your normal remote type ceiling fan w/o lights, the core ("dinner plate" is also static). Note: for regulator fan the core is NOT static. Thanks for the suggestion, will look into it. Yes, it’s 90s style but no choice because space constraint.Elmark Bee 36” or Elmark Swift Baby 46” ok? This post has been edited by fruitie: Mar 2 2021, 12:28 AM ceo684 liked this post

ceo684, I’m back again.
My house is quite small and I’m thinking to go for Elmark 52” instead of Alpha Cosa 54”. Two inches for fans makes any big difference? I’m attracted to KL101’s minimalist design and also the smallest room will be using Elmark Atom 42”. (I managed to plan for lighting so won’t be getting LED fan How are they compared to Alpha? Quality? By the way, is there any 50” remote control fan? If anybody has comment, also feel free to chip in your thoughts and suggestions. |

QUOTE(ceo684 @ Mar 5 2021, 01:26 PM) hi fruitie Wow, thanks for sharing the information! I didn't know so heavy and looks like a terrible brand. I will avoid by all costs, but I cannot deny it really looks good for minimalist design. Should not be a significant difference between 52 and 54. However for this particular model Spitfire 246 aka KL101 there are a few things to note: 1. It is exceptionally heavy at 13.4kg (typical fans ard 7-8kg). 2. No spec sheet or mention about KL101/KL / Spitfire 246 on the FB. 3. Reviews -ve https://shopee.com.my/ELMARK-KL101-SPITFIRE...8211.6416470520 4. In the past there were 17 models recalled in SG https://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/17-e...-problems-found so now you will see a SG model list and a Malaysian model list in the website. They list a lot of other model but their site seems to "forgot" about this model? 5. No spec w.r.t airflow/air delivery (cfm) Alpha Cosa 54” 80W motor 8500cfm [attachmentid=10804076] Elmark KL101 68W motor N/A cfm Hence IMO Alpha better (hardly see any recall or -ve). As for 50in - there is such thing @ NSB Aeratron 3 |

QUOTE(ogiveyakuza @ Mar 12 2021, 03:01 PM) What is the energy rating for those fan? Like you, I'm also searching for fan for my first house. 5 stars energy rating. Quite afraid to get the fan with remote type. Afraid if it is not last longer compared to regulator type. I think it is pretty durable these days, almost everyone that I know uses remote type. Regulator type is too troublesome. |

QUOTE(blanket84 @ Mar 12 2021, 03:54 PM) I think Alpha Cosa is a good choice. I did consider Alpha Cosa too last time. But because I malas, I would prefer 3 blades than 5 blades for easier cleaning chores. 2 extra blades per fan, that would be 12 extra blades to clean Yeah, quite affordable too. Fits into my budget perfectly and it is ABS. QUOTE(ogiveyakuza @ Mar 12 2021, 04:32 PM) the service apartment that I'm staying right now using Alpha Fan and looks ok. KDK was also one of my choices, I was deciding between KDK or Alpha Cosa and since I can save a bit if I choose Alpha Cosa, then why not? Moreover my fans will just complement airconds, so I just want an affordable yet durable model. Now undecided to go with KDK K14Z or Alpha Cosa after ready this thread and all the comments in here |

QUOTE(idkihavenoidealol @ May 10 2021, 05:42 PM) Hi, I'm currently considering this model as well, Alpha Cosa Xpress 54". May I know what is your review of the fan so far? Noise ok and wind good enough? My contractor just helped me to install on last Friday so I don't know yet. Maybe I ask him tomorrow after he goes to my house again. And also, does anyone know why Cosa series is quite similar to some of the model in Alpha Fan series? Not entirely same but the design is quite similar. Looks like Alpha Fan series have slightly more features like higher no. of speed settings, but not that commonly sold in Shopee as to compared to Cosa series. So far he said these fans look good but one thing even if I have 4 similar fans, their remote control cannot be interchangeable, one RC to one fan only. ceo684 liked this post

Honestly, I only started actively using the fans since I moved into the house mid-last year... Half a year later, one of the 54" fans started slowing down only speed 3 and 4 worked, now only speed 4 works. Then, slowly two more 54" fans also failed. Only one left standing because it is in the guest room and I hardly have any guests staying overnight. 40" one is still OK... Now what should I do with it? I contacted the CS and the replacement unit and service charges are crazy. Any other options besides changing new fans? Totally regret buying Cosa fans and will not suggest anyone to buy them anymore. ceo684, jimbet1337, and 2 others liked this post
