I purchased the low-ceiling model: 218/3B-HG. Haven't collected them yet!... nice black semi-matt surface that looks like it's Teflon coated!

PS - It's a Regulator type. I am not "THAT" lazy to need a remote control lah for a ceiling fan!!! Not like I am living in a bungalow and the switch is at the West wing or something tongue.gif haha.

Just a quick review of my experience with buying the ALPHA low ceiling fan...

FIRSTLY: There were problems with the installation - one of the screws used for installation was missing from the box! I had three ways to rectify this - to either get new screws from the Alpha factory, or to order it from the retailer (who will then order it from the factory), or I could go to some specialist screw shops in Jalan Ipoh to find this 'specialised' screw that is meant for this specific model... As my electrician was there to install everything, I had to take the fastest way -- that is to get it straight from the Alpha factory in Shah Alam... a nightmare journey via KESAS...

SECOND: One of the fans after installation made a slight noise at speed "3" and above. It was like a knocking sound that was easily discernible if the room was quiet. How to sleep at night like this?? I got my electrician to come over to inspect it... turns out it's the product defect, and not an installation issue. Had to book an appointment with an Alpha technician... headache. But at least they were fast to process my query -- it took them about a week to come though, and the problem was solved simply by slotting in a piece of cardboard (??) into one of the gaps within the body of the fan... FOC.

THIRD: These fans do not wobble... and are relatively quiet. But I detect a slight mechanical hum when I turn it on, and while it's running. I'm not sure if this is true to most fans in the market nowadays... but it's disappoint that it's not completely silent except for the blades swishing through the air. Maybe like 5 decibels...

Overall, if not for the early hiccups, these low-ceiling fans seem sturdy enough... I don't mind the low drone-hum noise either...
