I have installed several fans. Should the fan base (looks like a cone) be sticking to the ceiling or should there be a 1/2 inch gap to prevent the base from knocking on the false ceiling?

5 blades better at same speed because it can push more mass of air downwards.

Only at startup. Anyway, I went and changed them to KDK fans and they are working fine now. Should have gone with the branded ones.

For electrical items, there is a strong element of luck. I ordered many air cons recently. The LG (Korea) which is supposedly more branded than HiSense (China) is making soft electrical buzz noise. The HiSense is working very well. I'm getting the vendor to check on the LG this week.

how about vento fan? its an italian made fan and distributed by Oxy One company. i heard it can spin reverse in order to absorb the heat in the house..
*
Not sure of the brand of my fans. They can spin reverse. Suppose to prevent direct draft on the person but still provide general ventilation. I usu switch on my air-con at 24 deg C and switch on my fan at lowest speed. This helps to cool down the whole ground floor in just a few minutes.

Thanks. Mine have that sound, I have to check with my installer if he follow the manual instructions or not.
*
Mine has. It is as if the fan is changing gear.

Yup, that's the sound i have too. I need to verify if it's normal or abnormal.
*
It should be normal because all my 8 fans of two different models have this sound.

Damn.. installed 6nos of Panasonic fans, all also wobbling on the ceiling. Anyone knows if this is because of installer problem or defect units?
*
Mine wobbles slightly, partly due to the longer metal rod, so any slight imbalance is amplified. When I see the shop's fan that is the same model, it also wobbles slightly and it has been switched on for several months for >10 hours a day very day. So I'm not very concerned since the shop's fan is looking fine.

My reverse mode is on the remote. The fan will brake and switch its gear (can hear click), then it will go into the reverse mode. Some cheap brand...

Yeah you can contact KDK to get them to send their technician to check on your fan. Alternatively you can use 10 cents coin and stick it on top of any random blades and see which blades that you had placed the coin on will cause lesser wobble/swinging.  thumbup.gif

This is very innovative. I like the idea and will definitely try on my wobbling fans rclxms.gif

anyone using alpha 5 blade remote control fans?
so far the best units without any problem

only thing is the lowest speed is a bit fast too ... sometimes too strong

so reconsidering not using this for my new house

billyboy: top ten cheaper or lighting house puchong ?
*
This is the problem with 3-speed fan. Go for 5-speed and make sure that the default speed when switched on is the speed that you previously set. Mine jumped back to high speed sad.gif

ohh,, so it is the 3 speed problem... should look for 5 speed next time.

my fan also like that....jump to high speed? why? can set?
*
No idea. Jumped to mid-speed but it was too fast. No other buttons to adjust so I guess it is hard-wired into the control chip.

Yesterday i bought two Vento fans.
Vento 5BGM for rm167  and
Vento V152GM for rm240.- with reversed function.
Bought these for esthetic purposes.
Then another 2 panasonic 60" ceiling fan for rm129 each.

baby fan for rm355. Ok or not with the price and the speed for children's bedroom??
*
Baby fans are expensive for the size, but if the room is small then you have no choice. The price is about there.
