Did a tour of duty at Sunway and Taman Sea Cash converters branch, nothing of interest there (in terms of Retro gaming) sad.gif

Did found some PSP and Xbox 360 games in Taman Sea branch though (all titles selling for RM 69.90).

Maybe will go take a peek in Ampang branch sometime.

Zhuge Liang, are they any retro titles in c-converter SEA/Sunway at all?
I plan to go there next week. if there is nothing then i won't go.

you won't be dissapointed at ampang point though.. many ps1 titles.
*
I think better you save the trip to SEA/ Sunway branch smile.gif . I only saw a gameboy color at Sunway branch. In SEA, PSP, xbox360 (as seen in my last photo) and a few loose game gear carts.

Well I went to Ampang branch today smile.gif Still lots of PS1 (NTSC-J) around, didn't see any PS2 games though...

thanks man - i will save the trip to SEA/Sunway

there were a couple of ps2 game on the right hand side to ps1 games of the Ampang branch cabinet.. they were under a stack of PC game. i didn't really bother to look at them though, was busy moving out stacks of ps1 games and spread on the floor like u did. hehehe

Klang is a bit far to go there empty handed - totally agree. and I am from Penang(!!!)

I wonder where they get all these ps1 titles. could it be some Sony authorised dealers closed shop post-PS1 era and sold everthing off to c-converter.. shocking.gif
*
I think those stack are from Sony Wings KLCC (before Sony Wings shrink their floorspace) and from from the original Sony authorized PS shop in Sg. Wang.

Hi Dark NT and LiangZhuge,

Did you see the very, very, very old Winning Eleven on the stack of games?
*
did saw a Namco tennis game .. Not that interested though. There is still another copy of Um Jammer Lammy when I left there brows.gif

I went to the Ampang cash converter last month - but i was put of because the games are all in Japanese.
*
Some games you no need to know Japanese like Um Lammer Jammy and Mr driller smile.gif. Then some is just to compliment my English version with a Japanese version.

surprisingly late release for europe....

still prefer the old consoles from sega tho...
*
This brings back memories ... logged around 50+ hours on it and still not finish (cannot win one of town boss) .. to lazy to level grind. This game is damn crazy with the job levels and level grinding. I remember one of my friend spending a few weeks reading comic book while level grinding.

I still have the save files but don't know when I will revisit it again ... so many games ... so little time...

Hey guys,

Some Final Fantasy Question:

If let say FF7 is 9.5/10, what rating you will give you FFVIII, FFIX, FFX, FFX-2, FFXII?

Thank you.
*
I only finished FF 4, 5, 6, 7 and 12 only .... Still think FF 6 story was the best smile.gif. FF 8 to 10, I just lost interest mid way. FF 12 offer some interesting play mechanics.

FFVIII I would give 8.5, FFIX 10, FFX 9, FFX-2 1.314, FFXII unknown since I haven't played.

But I agree with liang on VI being the best, although 5 is my favorite as that's the only FF that is actually challenging.
*
FF 5 challenging ??? shocking.gif all you need is GP/ gil to win ... you can bribe your way to the end. The final boss also was bribed using the ninja suit brows.gif

Tried ebay and google but found nothing.. right now i am throwing all cards in a padded envelope but its not nice.

How u guys keep them?
*
Just stuck it in the console (if there is still free slots), normally I just leave it beside the console .... collecting dust sweat.gif

1 question is there any CRT tv'w with multiple component input as I need at least 2, for my GC and PS2? Now im shopping around for a CRT and finding the best value for money and performance.
*
Well my old Sony Wega CRT (KV-DZ29m61 - flat screen) also have 2 component. Too bad light guns don't work with it. My house of the dead (DC) + light gun (mad catz) tak mau jalan sad.gif

For me 2 component is still not enough ( I hook up my PS2, XBOX, DVD-player) so I use 2 of those composite selectors (those China brand video selector 3 holes) and poke the 5 wire into it . Works like a charm, but need to manually adjust both selectors together.

--------------

My current findings !!!!

a REAL fake cart (Famicom unlicensed cart)

Chinese chess game made by Micro genius - circa 1991. The cart is quite heavy so it might be using IC rather than those black globs.

The best it to view it side by side at the shop smile.gif . Previously I was going for Philips but when I was in the shop comparing the TV's, Sony vibrant colour won me over smile.gif

*
I am not sure if the Utopia boot disc can work or not (can't work on newer DC) but I did use it to play my PAL Sonic on my JAP machine. If u want I can burn 1 for you. smile.gif U kasi postage or collect in PJ area smile.gif

I almost bought an MD clone to relive my childhood memories. I saw a shop selling "Mega Drive 2" -

me : how much is this?
shop : RM79
me : where to get the carts
shop : we do sell them here
me : come with any games?
shop : ya come with 4 games
me : can discount a bit ar..
shop : RM70 is the lowest
me : ok i take one unit
shop : sorry but these units have problem as they are very old
me : @$%&@#^$&@

wasted my time talking about something they are not selling, but they still display it.. they have like 6-7 units of it.
*
I bought a mega drive 2 clone for RM30 though in Ipoh some time ago. Just the machine with 2 joypad (6 buttons). Both Joy rosak when I brought it home, too lazy to bring it back to Ipoh sad.gif . The machine work with my joypad but the composite cable (mono sound - only Yellow and white) is what I was going for biggrin.gif . Now my original mega drive 2 plug in RCA rather than the aerial connection icon_rolleyes.gif

Just bought Demon's Soul from garage sale for RM100 - time to take out my PS3. My firmware dunno how long never update already...

Added on October 25, 2009, 5:39 pmThis may be of interest to some of you? SNES - but I don't know is it Original.

Looks like lanun carts to me. I notice the SF2 is a JAP cart but have small tabs at the bottom (I guess his SNES has not been de-fanged since most are JAP games - Original JAP/PAL have smooth edge at the bottom of the cart). Better you confirm with the user smile.gif (my eyes might be failing me after playing games so long.

A SFC baseball game and a GB first person RPG (20 years old ~ way back in 1989)

Well I open up the GB cart to check if it was original and it is !!!!!

Didn't know opening a GB cart was so easy. Just unscrew the Nintendo screw at the back and just push down in front (following the arrow). At first I was trying to pry it as I thought it was using some kind of those clip thingy to hold itself

see the Nintendo on the IC biggrin.gif Confirm Original

me 2 i also have no carts 2 open  cry.gif , the other day saw the SNES thread @ garage sales already teracun but luckily never buy.

Need to check the authenticity of my collections. From there you learn to look at the external and guess how many % of it is real. I think I can 90% sure of SFC, N64 and Genesis cart originality. FC and NES are quite easy to spot (multi games), still learning about GB cart.
