If your "mean" right now only capable of DVD, so be it, it is nothing wrong. But do not saying that PQ of BD or those 720p/1080p files is not much "different" in term of PQ if compared to DVD.but as some forummer say:

Your system set-up must have screw up big time in order not to able to tell PQ different between DVD/Upscale DVD player and BluRay/720p/1080p files
And not everyone don't have the time and mean to get better quality video files:
