*
Yea i know that , Malaysia 80GB and Singapore 80GB model are totally the same CECHK06 , because Sony Malaysia import the console from Singapore and make it as Official Product for Malaysia market..

This are some tips how to know its Malaysia 80GB PS3 : - click the spoiler please !

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Sony Malaysia only accept PS3 80GB Malaysia Edition for 1 years warranty..Others then that , sorry nope..Even though ur PS3 CECHK06 same as Malaysia PS3 but u cant register it under Sony Malaysia...Your PS3 are only can be register under SONY SINGAPORE.

Hmm..I just bought a PS3 MY set recently. I've setup everything, including the PSN store registration.

Question: Why it says I can't access to the PSN store? It says my location is not available for PSN? MY set cannot access to PSN store meh?
*
Your PSN id , is it Malaysia ? if malaysia , the store not ready yet...I hv no probs to access any PSN store..create at least 2 or 3 PSN id..

Not sure if somebody has asked this question before but:

How and where do I install the themes inside my PS3? I copied the themes inside my pendrive but I can't find a way to transfer it inside my PS3 though. Help please?
*
- Insert the storage media in the PS3 system.
- In the XMB (Xross Media Bar), go to (Settings) > (Theme Settings) > [Theme], and then select [Install].
- Select the theme that was saved on the storage media. Note: The theme name may be different than the actual theme.

Folder Structure for ur thumbdive : http://ps3explained.com/advanced/folder-structure/

Make sure ur thumbdrive format FAT32.

neways, ps3 games are already on blu-ray discs themselves. wouldn't make any sense if blu-ray movies would degrade your lens while your blu-ray games won't.
*
for those which afraid to play BD Movies on the PS3 , dont play BD games...just download games from PSN Store only..Hahahah

QUOTE(todak @ Dec 4 2008, 11:10 AM)
I'm ready to upgrade my ps3 hd this weekend.

Equipment:-
PS3 MY
Portable HD 80GB
2.5" 500GB WD HD
Philips screwdriver set

Preparation:-
Format portable hd using swissknife to FAT32 (I've backed up the data on it to my desktop pc)

Operation:-
1- Access ps3 menu, use "backup" function and choose the formatted portable hd on usb connection. Wait to finish,
2- When finished, deactivate ps3 and unplug everything. Pry open back panel, use screwdriver to unscrew and take out hd. Unscrew 4 screwdrivers and replace new hd into casing. Screw back and pop back into ps3 and close.
3- Start ps3 and choose yes when asked to format new drive. After restart ps3 might asked for latest firmware so have usb drive with fw with you. Choose "restore" from menu and choose the portable hd connected on usb. Wait to finish.
4- Done

Let me know if I'm missing anything here, thanks.

guys...any info when 160GB malaysia version will be available??
*
well Sony Malaysia just launched the PS3 80GB last september & i dont think they will launch the 160GB models..as far as i know CECHK and CECHP are using same Cell & RSX ( both 65nm chip )..the only diffrence are size of the HDD..the best way if u wanna get bigger HDD , just upgrade it to 320GB or more then that..
