Hi Friends =) my father just bought a pair of PSB Synchrony One floor standing speaker *hooray*
This afternoon my father went to A & L for audiction.
He was suppose to choose Focus Audio FC9 classic series.
But in the end,Andy recommend PSB Synchrony One floor standing speaker which is very awesome!
He suggested my dad to buy Synchrony One instead of keep on upgrading!
One shot 99 since my dad is using the great Pioneer SC-LX81 amp too.
So Andy brain wash my dad.
He told my dad n say "amp so good of course buy good speaker*
And my dad kena poison!
Anyway the speaker is truly damn awesome!
Delivery 2moro and will upload the pic as soon as possible!
Its expensive but worth every penny of it!!!

Phew... 10K for a pair of speakers is bit pricy but as long as can fully apprecaited and justified should be ok.  How I wish my father can spend 10K for the speakers  hmm.gif

Just wondering, you don't happen to know the price of Synchrony One C, right?
*
last time my father did ask the Puchong IOI A & L.
it cost around 6k
But now since my father bought the Synchrony floor standing,
I think Andy would charge my dad cheaper!
below 6k i think.

what other 10k floorstander you compare with...mind to share?
*
Erm,maybe the PMC i series.
some cost rm10 till 20 k
some even more expensive which is more than 20k.
O.O

Added on May 16, 2009, 6:08 pmThe last two speakers I reviewed, the Sonus Faber Cremona Elipsa (December 2007) and the KEF Reference 207/2 (February 2008), each cost around $20,000/pair. As much as I was impressed by those highfliers, PSB's Synchrony One reached almost as high for just $4500/pair. Its slightly forward low treble will work better with laid-back amplification and sources, and its warmish midbass region will require that care be taken with room placement and system matching. But when everything is optimally set up, the Synchrony One offers surprisingly deep bass for a relatively small speaker; a neutral, uncolored midrange; smooth, grain-free highs; and superbly stable and accurate stereo imaging. It is also superbly finished and looks beautiful. Highly recommended. And when you consider the price, very highly recommended.

Review from Stereophile magazine company!

Hehehe... PSB synchrony one is that good ah? Will check it out if A&L at AmCorp mall has it when my next trip there... Now ichy on checking all those equipment  wink.gif  cool.gif

Yeap.its one of the best sound quality that I ever heard.
The bass is sooo tight and the treble is solid while the low frequencies is good too!
Its awesome!
Anyway, its good if you could check this speaker so mistake can be avoided.
Furthermore it is not a small sum.
It would be best if we could start a forum such as best buy from 500k-1000k,1000k-3000k and so on so that members will have their guidance.
And one thing, the cable is VERY important too.
Before this my father used to told me that cable is kinda bullshit and useless.
But since he bought the PS AUDIO PLUS powercord and PS AUDIO filter stuff, the sound quality had improved much better!
And not to forget that before this,he never believe about good speaker cables.
But today,he went to A & L Sungai Wang for some speaker demo.
Andy recommended my father the Synchrony One speaker.
At 1st,he used just a normal speaker cable. But the sound is already impressive!
After that he told my father that the sound quality will improve alot much better when u use expensive speaker cable.
He immediately tested the speaker with AUDIOQUEST ROCKET 33 series and the result?
Jaw Dropping!!!!impressive!!maybe because of the sound,my father kena the poison and bought it!
And this was the most expensive speaker that my father had bought since before this he used to buy kinda cheap speaker.

I listened to B&W center before (forgot the model) and I'm not impressed at all. Even in comparison, AAD center is better sounding.

But of course I'm just telling what I'm hearing and I have nothing against B&W. They are good solid speakers. Just not my cup of tea...
*
Arrimie i think you were listening those entry level, if not mistaken from highway laser or monsoon(close shop already lah) rclxms.gif

US15K is too much for a center speaker.  For me RM5K is the max I'm willing to spend if it is really really really good....
*
yeap..not too spend till like mad fellas until more than hundred thousands.
If 5k centre speaker, maybe you should try Focus Audio FCC2 or their top seller Signature Series FSC-1.
And Dynaudio(but overprice by the local dealers)
Or also the PSB Synchrony One C which is around 5-6k.
All also good speakers thumbup.gif

I have no idea of Anxiom speaker performance.
But I do know Dynaudio is a very good speaker but they are being overprice by the local dealer.
You can compare how much they are selling at the oversea via internet and the local dealer price.
Totally far much different price than the oversea.
Local dealer used to think we are *water fish*

Well Mr17 yr old, Why must you buy online without checking carefully in the first place? You might be surprise how many establish brands are made in China now. Looks like you have a very long journey ahead.....

Added on May 19, 2009, 5:37 pm

As for me, it doesn't matter if its the Image or Alpha range, as long as it matches and sounds good to you in your system. Expensive higher end speakers are meaningless if your source and amp cannot bring out their true capabilities.
Just my opinion...
*
yeap.i might be only 17years old but i did learn quite some stuff form my dad and hi-fi shop professional staff.
I agree i still got a long way to learn.
Thats why im starting to learn it.
but as everybody say, even u buy how expensive or how good your amp is but your speaker is cheap skate its totally wasted!
a good and expensive amp deserve to amplify a good quality speaker.
just like my dad, earlier this year he bought a Pioneer SC-LX81 which is a superb amplifier that get 5 star and good review but he bought the PSB Image T65 speaker.
Even alot of Hi-Fi shops also told my dad and say"wah your amp so good but why choose cheap speaker?doesn't deserve and wasted.at least u buy a 8k speaker to match your set"
Even my dad also think its correct.
Good amp but speaker not as good.
But that time the T65 sound is quite satisfy and recently my dad bought the Synchrony One the sound is awesome when being pushed by a good amp.
Thats why if u had a good amp,try to spend a little bit more on speakers too.
Its worth every penny of it.
Won't get rugi nod.gif

So, your dad bought the Pioneer SC-LX81 in hifi4sale website? Cheaper speakers do not mean its totally wasted on an expensive amp.If you manage to match it well, the sound will be an eye opener. You'll never believe a mid budget speakers can sound so good in a good setup!
Retailers will surely recommend higher end speakers as profit margin will be very high.Btw, Synchrony One on a Pioneer av amp?Try it on a higher end integrated  or a good pre power combination. Then you'll know what real hifi sound is like....
Just my view, anyway.
What cheap skate speakers are you referring too? I have very good budget speakers (cheap skate, as you called it) performing very well on mid range amp and higher end pre power that cost 15 times the cost. I have friends who just cannot believe how good these 'cheap skates' perform.I am not comparing to the platinum m2 i've had b4 but it has its own merit and character. Now! thats what i call 'awesome' for a cheap skate speakers.
*
nope! my father never buy thing over the web, kind of scare abt warranty issue, with no shop just with hp contact kind of risky. But one thing for sure the local dealer r willing to take back if not satisfy with the speakers so janji is already ok lah. Trouble is my dad never hv much time to go for demo, if i am not mistaken he once told me pre n power comb. are far much better in sound quality no doubt abt it but kinda of exp. Were at one time looking for lexicon processor (fogot which model MC12 or 8) but the owner cakap banyak no demo so no deal lah! u know some shop provide lousy service know how to talk not willing to demo 4 cust. problem my dad always dress like pasar borong style maybe owner thought this fella must b from BENTONG BT 18 ! Problem wt pre and power comb. are always lack of latest codec need firmware upgrade and so so. if not mistaken i came across those LCLY topic abt, dealers dunno where already , man 2 cari?

Damn keng with power amp. Ask Eugene brows.gif

My power amp still under power la.
Might go for a more powerful(at least 400watt per channel) stereo power amp for my front Synchrony One floorstander.
The Synchrony is a power hungry beast.
My Pioneer SC-LX81(Class D amp) alone already susah to push the Synchrony One.
Aiming for the Synchrony One C centre.
But no stock rclxub.gif
