for the maybank thingy, wouldnt it be more easier u jus pick up a phone n call instead of waiting for us to feed u wit the info and if its wrong wasting ur time going all the way

The company i currently working in no need to worry about retrenchment coz just recently i heard a few guys from one department are resigning.

I've heard that this department has the habit of domino resigning (If one fella go, expect the rest to follow like sheep) and the unfortunate thing is i'm in but only just to learn new skills coz my primary function is as an IT facilitator. Donno why in singapore, especially for marine industry, those workers who come from india, when they leave a company, the rest in the company will follow suite. Rather depressing really.
*
understand how u feel i was in that kind of situation b4 well i also followed n resigned haha after i found abterr offer tat is haha
but the current situation now is not adviseable to start hopping especially if ur industry depends on finance banking n semicon

else stick around tat mayb a chance for u to learn n improve yourself. anyway imo if the place u r working hav good senior who guides u n u laern alot no point changing jobs unless its an offer u cant resist say a 50% increment or sumthing similiar

Actually i want 2 stick around so that i can learn new things in the marine industry but most of the time the seniors who are indian nationals dont seem to be so keen to teach new skills, even when i'm on the job together with them. I also cant just simply change since the field i'm in is totally new to me and who would want 2 hire a freshie who has no prior exp in this field of work.

So far my boss has said that he would send me on some courses relating to marine inspection field but thats only next year. One training course i do have is the ISO certified internal auditor course which i've completed but its just an add-on and nothing related to marine engineering.

What worrying is that quite a number of seniors are leaving about 2/3 of the department. If thats the case who am i going to learn from anyway?
*
so i take tat ur comp 50% r foreigners especially india n china?
well i hav a fren who works about same field as u o&g servicing line on jurong island half of his colleagues r from india
he's having a hard time communicating and working together but he cant leave coz got contract haha

my advise is stay till after cny as tats the time u hav ur bonus after tat look for a job the situation might change n not really a long period coming to year end dy

QUOTE(Chrisky @ Nov 7 2008, 02:03 PM)

QUOTE(sukhoi37 @ Nov 9 2008, 07:23 PM)
confirm no blacklist.
i also resigned before 3 months no problem whatsoever.
but please take note that if you leave the company before 189days, IRAS will charge you 15% income tax.
you can get the money back if you just change employer in sg.

currently working in aviation industry based in Changi.
our GM just have a talk with us last week, our company profit is slightly decreased.
guess we are not badly hit by recession atm.
*
this year alot of comp still enjoy profits la the real hit will be next year

muslims in sg (not only malays r muslims) generally if their own food do not contain pork they dont care i hav a few muslim frens i eat bak kut teh they eat their sup kambing as long as i dun go dip my spoon into their food they dun dip theirs into mine no prob at all this is wat i truly call racial and reglious harmony. unlike msia totally unbalanced

so u can c sum tables muslims share table wif chinese or guai lou or watever race or religion espcially in sg whr the food courts are packed like a sardine can during meal times. however there r a few shopping centers who do segregate between halal n non halal food eg vivo city, century sq etc.
