Ai? y not continue at ur tread previously? as told, home+on/off button for 10Sec, after, release only on/off button till pc recognize... screen shall blank at all cost...

i tried the on/off button + home..cant..the screent still shows the cable connect to itunes thing..

All those process is while iphone connected via usb to pc... sumtimes there will be a notification of DFU mode on pc taskbar... if none, got sounds of warning on speaker pc.. and if not again, there will be a message on itunes...

i'm curious y my phone can go to recovery mode but not DFU..

erm.. i previously using iliberty to ul/jb my 1.1.4.. and it can masuk DFU yesterday when i do 2.0.1 upgrade.


Added on August 15, 2008, 10:42 amu shud know u let go the on/off button at 8-10sec but keep pressing home button right?

yes... keep pressing that both button till bypass that slide to turn off thing.... after that, release only on/off button.... then screen blank and you wont be able to on or watsoever while in dfu mode.... 10seconds please... even whatever happened... 10 seconds both button minimum... REMEMBER, ONLY RELEASE ON/OFF BUTTON...

i did everything..the 10 sec rule..not even skip 1 step..my screen is black already but the itunes doesnt detect my phone in DFU mode..instead my phone is off rather than in DFU mode

cudnt be... unless that is the side effect from your downgrade?
again, i did mine just fine yesterday. if i am not mistaken there is 2nd method shown in sleepers...

i havent downgrade actually..i was in 2.0.1 then when i was in cydia downloading half way it always hangs..so i decided to redo everything again and increase the partition size to 550mb..just that i cant put the phone into DFU Mode..HELP cry.gif

Follow my steps:

1) Make sure your iphone is connected to your PC, and iTunes detected and launched

2) Now, switch off your iPhone while being connected to the PC (iTunes must remain open)

3) Hold the Power button + Home Button, after 10 secs release the Power button but hold the Home Button ( your PC should detect your in DFU mode ). Your iPhone screen will be BLANK ( if you get the cable + iTunes logo, it means you held it too long and went into recovery mode)

ok..now all of a sudden i'm able to unlock and jailbreak when the phone is not detected in DFU..so now i download the appsupport thing..everytime i open cydia and download it hangs right in the middle of the download..wat can i do?

Im lost in ur post..... What firmware version are you in now? 2.0, 2.0.0.1 or still on pwned 1.1.4? What is the exact .ipsw file as your template? is it the iPhone1,1_2.0.1_5B108_Restore.ipsw?

Could it be your sleep button malfunction?

I used to have the similiar thing, cant go in both mode, later i realise that its might be caused by my poor functioning sleep button..

my sleep button all working perfectly..


Added on August 15, 2008, 3:08 pmanybody experiencing this? when u go into phone then after 1-2secs it will kick u back out to the springboard..and the import contacts from sim is not working also..

do you back up ur contact from itune through ms outlook?

i restore my iphone from 2.0 to 2.0.1 together with all the back up, everything should be fine...

This usualy happened to apps that been ssh'ed to iphone... these are about permission to those files... Bout that simport, who need simport for 2.0s firmware? head on to settings/Mail,Contacts,Calendars/ (Scrol to bottom) and you'll find "Import SIM Contacts".... Wolla!!
