Just bought this phone last week from a forummer. RM6++. Very happy with this phone.. It not lag unless doing multitask.

few amateur questions to ask u guys.

When I want to save those sms into my "Saved Messages" folder, it will automatically saved into my sim card memory. Because of that, it has a limit of number of saved messages only.

1) How can I save it into my 8GB dimm card instead? I cant find the option.

2) When I use PC Suite, I can create a new folder under PC Suite Archive (in Text Message column). Does this means it copied those saved messages into my pc? Because I cant seem to locate it back from my W980 phone alridi.

Hope to get more hints and tips from you guys. Thanks.

1 more thing, in my previous SE phone, there is a file manager icon for me to click. so that I can view and see my memory card easily. but I dont have this icon in this phone.

Hence, when i transfer songs into the Music folder, all the songs listing gone messy. Eg, I've included 50 songs in a folder called mp3. But when I launch the media, it was separated by Albums automatically or artists and arranged differently.

How come it does not recognize MP3 as an album and play all the songs inside?

if im not mistaken , the "saved messages" folder is meant for keeping messages that u want to store in your sim only.
the default usually will be saved into phone memory. dont need to find an option. its already a default. unless u wanna transfer it from phone to sim memory, then when u open the message, choose options and save message.

as for question 2 im not really sure as i dont use pc suite.

i dont think its possible to view items in memory card as the 8gb is built-in memory. so u wont have that option in the phone.

I used its media manager and pc suite, since they are there for u to use, why not right?
BTW, WMP can do the job just fine too.

yeah. try installing it from the CD they provided.
then if u want u can sync it with ur phone. im not very good in this as usually i just drag and drop them into the phone straight.

where can I download theme for w980i? I mean original theme. One of my theme corrupted.

and then look for this
this indicates the region u should choose

1) You can save your messages by accessing settings in the messaging menu.
2) I've never used PC suite to archive sms but I'm using myphonexplorer which is more advanced than PC suite, I recommend it
3) The file manager function is still there but it's no longer in the main menu. You can now find it under organizer
4) W980 is an advanced portable music device, that's why it categorically reorganizes your files according to the mp3's ID tags which, if you're an audiophile is Godsent. Which means if you have like 100's of albums like I do and would like to keep them organized accordingly, then this is a great phone for that, and album art would just be fun to have too. But if you still want your mp3s to be read in a single folder, select all the songs in your PC, right click to access properties, under advanced, type the folder name ie. "MP3" at the 'album' field and then transfer it to you phone. But all of your songs will show the artists' names from the album "MP3". Creating playlist is the best solution for you. I personally would sit down for hours with my PC editing the ID tags of downloaded mp3's and attach their album art just to organize and get the full Walkman experience Happy trying
