I've posted this in the Tips & Trick section but I just have to share this with you all. So enjoy.

Here's a tool that i would like to share with all of you. Its a tool that enable you to use SSH without wifi. It uses the USB cable for the connection. Great news for people with no wifi. This is for WINDOWS user only.

iPhone Tunnel Suite 2.6 BETA

Requirement:
• Open SSH installed through Installer or Cydia
• iPhone Tunnel Suite
• Latest version of. Net Framework

Functions:
• Connecting via SSH to an iPhone / iPod Touch, all without the need of WiFi and with the need of only USB cable.
• Client WinSCP integrated (included in the iPhone Tunnel Suite)
• Client Putty integrated (included in the iPhone Tunnel Suite)

Here's the guide on how to use it:

1. First, downloading it from here. http://www.makkiaweb.net/
2. Go ahead with the installation with the exe files:
3. Installation took place, then you can run the suite. Launch SSH in iPhone / iPod as well.
4. First time you run it, it will ask you to set up the Device Setting. You can set up to 3 devices.
5. Again on the first run, the program will close itself as if it just crash. Don't worry, open it up again.
6. Now with the new interface and function, you can make the phone as a wifi antenna.
7. Make sure the iTunnel status is started. If its not, click the iTunnel button on top to start the service. If it's not stated then you can't use WinSCP/PuTTY.
8. iConnect button/service is used to make the phone as a wifi antenna/tethering method.

The concept of using wireless and wired are the same. By using the iPhone tunnel, we open a tunnel using the ip 127.0.0.1 which is the localhost ip. To use WinSCP with wireless, all you need is to be in the same network as the target pc. Get the phone IP address and put it in Hostname. Username is root and password is alpine. File protocol should be SCP and then click connect. Remeber to enable SSH in your iPhone or it can never get connected.

p/s - The dev of this app will be launching a newer and better version of iPhone Tunnel Suite v2.5. I'll update the 1st post once its available. Here's the preview

This app is not dependent on the phone firmware. As long as u have SSH installed in the phone then you are good to go. The creator supposed to release a new version but development had been slow. Next version will include more features.

Added on November 3, 2008, 12:47 pmUnfortunately ... there's no similar app for Mac. I dunno if this can be run with parallels or vmware fusions.
