For iPod Touch, you need to BUY the 2.0 upgrade. 2.0 Upgrade is free for iPhone users only. Asking for images here would signify downloadable item, which constitutes piracy.
It is unfortunate that Apple treats the iPod Touch owners like this, but that's the way things are. Asking for iPod Touch images or firmware for 2.0 here constitutes a piracy act, thus not allowed. |

To those finding that their overall performance lags 2.0.1, try this. It may or may not work.
Go into "General" and "Reset Network Setting" . Turn off your iPhone and turn it on again, and re-enter your settings back again. See if there are any differences if you turn the "Enable 3G" button to ON or off. If they are the same, then leave it ON, then "Reset All Settings" . This will return it to factory default, but without the need to re-unlock it again, I believe. Restart your iPhone and see if there are any differences. Re-enter all your settings again. I believe this lag is contributed by the latency of the current connection present. That would either include EDGE, 3G or Wifi. I have no lag problems while I'm on a hotspot, or a stable 3G environment, but once the radios are heavily searching for connection, (denoted by the circular rotation thingy at top right), everything slows down to a crawl, and typing an SMS lags like hell. The iPhone with 2.0 I believe is designed to be an always-on-connection device and the extra resources dedicated to keeping that connection open may be the culprit for this lag. For the record, I post responses on LYN while I'm on the bus, with it moving around its route. This is when it lags down the most as it struggles to keep the 3G connection active. On EDGE, since DiGi's EDGE coverage are more widespread and stable, I face less complications like this. I face zero lag while posting from Starbucks' Timezone. Your mileage may vary, but that is how I see it on mine. Until we get a more stable connection with 3G coverage in compliance with Apple's 3G standards on the iPhone 3G, this lag may still ensue even after firmware updates. |

What happens if I come?
Yup, still in the country, stricken with high fever last two days, bedridden and oulling snots into my nose. Tell me if this is a private TT or TT that has something to do with anything other than legitimate stuff (besides the jailbreak/unlock), in which I mean roping in "certain kinds of" AppStore games into everyone's iPhones there. IF that is so, just PM me, (dont have to post it here), and I'll skip. Dont want to make things unpleasant later. |

If anyone needs help, I am around tomorrow and the day after. We can do the pwning using Pwnage Tool 2.0.2, which works with zero issues while we tried it just now. I already updated it to 2.0.2 and also got the working 2.0.1 firmware from Corvinux.
Just offering help to those who had problems with Winpwn. |

@nokia
Can we try Gardens near Midvalley? I wanna see what's the whole deal with that new place. Or a compromise, KL Sentral perhaps? In between KLCC and the PJ/Damansara malls. |

QUOTE(davidgary73 @ Aug 18 2008, 01:50 AM) Downgrading the iphone is not easy as it requires u to do lot's more than the upgrading method. Just have a look at the link below. After you guys went back, the update from the app itself ran strangely well. Downloaded the IPSW from Corvinux and we were in business. Unless we have another 3G user needing jailbreak, I'll have to pre-download the IPSW beforehand.http://sleepers.net/news/guides/20-to-114-downgrade/ @Stringfellow Hey brother, glad u got the pwnagetool going. This afternoon was bad as the wifi connection was unpredictable. QUOTE(nokia2003 @ Aug 18 2008, 01:54 AM) @string Noted. Which the reason why I dont drive while I'm in KL. Funny looks from my colleagues yes, but I'd like to save my blood pressure from rising.sure no problem. just keep me updated or pass along the information to corvinux. but traveling to kl approaching after office hours will be suicidal. |

Don't wanna sound like I'm dissing the Windows guys, but no problems whatsoever on Pwnage Tool 2.0.2 on Mac. Proven yesterday. There's even a pictorial countdown to help you with DFU mode.

QUOTE(Seaedge @ Aug 18 2008, 07:03 PM) I didn't meant it that way. We could cut down the time on pwning the phones if we hit the ground running. If all you need to do is unlock the iPhones irregardless of which method to use, why not consider getting help from your Mac buddies? I don't wanna start any OS war around here, just saying that there are other painless, less error 16xx headache inducing options out there. |

Easiest is use Pwnage Tool. The app comes with indicators on screen when you have successfully entered DFU mode. No guesswork, no maybes.

QUOTE(xTraVagaNza @ Aug 22 2008, 05:21 PM) just to share some experience..(all done with winpwn 2.0.0.4.) Let me get this straight, you need to set the partition size to a number more than 500 and dividable by 8?try to upgrade from 2.0 to 2.0.1. first try (partition 602mb) after dfu mode..got error 6 at itunes. second try (partition 750mb) winpwn crash while building custom ipsw file. 3rd try (partition 512mb) succesfully done 2.0.1. p/s : read from sleeper.net that if got error 6 from itunes, its about root partition.n some said n lots agree that setting the partition to sumthing that can be divide by 8 is the solution. (i try n i succeed). |
