I'm curious about Minorin, as the anime, I feel, did not flesh her out properly, as in what her 'guilt' is all about, and what's with Minorin, esp. her remark on her not going to Taiga's house since her freshman year unless she 'had to'.

What kind of friend is that?

I do like her initially, due to her bubbly-ness, but now she's dark and sinister.

Here's hoping for a alternate ending tongue.gif

Highlights of final volume 10

user posted image
user posted image

1.Ryuuji and Taiga run off
2.They fall into the river, lots of stuff happen (first kiss), and having nowhere else to go, they end up at Ami's house
3.They decide they should talk to their parents once and split up
4.They meet at school and escape
5.They go to Yasuko's parents' home and convince them to forgive her
6. Ryuuji and Yasuko make up
7. Deep kiss between Taiga and Ryuuji
8.Taiga says goodbye to Ryuuji and goes to her mother
9.The new semester begins and Taiga returns to Ryuuji
10. They got engaged and getting married after graduation.

Ryuji ending thought is that he wants to spend his lifetime with Taiga as married couple.

Yes they (Ryuji and Taiga) have sex in this novel.

The End.

PS: The author hinted that she is taking a break then might write some side stories on ToraDora if she feels up to it.

lol, since they have sex in the novel, I doubt the anime will potray it out.

Still hoping for an alternate ending.. surprise me! smile.gif

BTW, no one answered what minorin guilt is all about, since stormy and a few others actually read the novel, then the minorin guilt is probably fleshed out better, or do they only read the summaries of the novels? (O_o)

I'm curious what her guilt is all about, and how come Ami is the only one that notices?

Minorin is not guilty but rather she has other goal in her life, beyond relationship. She wanted to surpass her younger brother in baseball and been taking various odd jobs to get money for sports college admission. She DID like Ryuji but just not enough to abandon her life dream in pursuit of sporting excellence. Being a girl though, she settle to be PE coach as her future choice since there is no female baseball league in Japan.

Ami was very angry at Minorin because she tried to pretend that nothing significant happen on Xmas night, ignoring Ryuji's broken feelings. She is pushing Minorin to resolution of her feelings towards Ryuji which we will see later in ep 23 or 24 of anime.

Thanks to her career and life, Ami is the most observant and very keen about other people, especially the one she cares about. However she is still a teenage girl as her final confrontation with Ryuji shows how vulnerable she is. In this scene, Ami was crying that no one seems to care about her and notice her feelings which Ryuji tries to rebut but got dust off by her. She ran away crying, swearing that she did not want to see him anymore.

I couldn't have imagined minorin being a serious 'career onna' lol. Seriously, I guess the conversion from novel to anime made a lot of things unclear, esp in regards to the thoughts of the character and their goals in life. And what's with Ami liking Ryuuji? I mean, they converse the least, yet Ami is infatuated with Ryuuji? I thought that in the anime, Ami got closer to Ryuuji just to spite Taiga, initially, then in the later episodes, they're all buddy buddy again, WTH?

I think that as a novel reader, you can help clarify these issues, rather than just reveal the ending, though in actuality, the ending was VERY obvious from the title. Just like those clear cut romance books my sister/mom/etc used to read.. (yeah, I read a few lol, so straight cut, it's laughable)

Anyway, still better than a romance anime/manga with no end in sight (Ah Megamisama, anyone?)LOL

Or maybe, Taiga and Ryuuji goes for a School Days Bad Ending smile.gif

Ami did liked Ryuji but she realised that she is too late to get his attention hence her comment of "If I have known you earlier". Vol 4 is where she tried her hardest to get him but she realise it is going nowhere so she convinced herself to be a "counselor" and a good friend to these group of people. However her feelings keep conflicting her friendship which in volume 9 finally erupted after being kept for so long inside of her.

Anyway, I heard there is game of ToraDora coming.

Why the sudden change? I mean, during the earlier scenes when Ami was introduced, she seems like one of those people which I would say kind of egotistical, and being a model and having money, surely she's not a little girl that simply wants attention.. >_>, but author's creative license means I have no right to complain lol.

In volume 4? What kind of effort did she do? She always states it in her small voice, and when Ryuuji is going like, What? I couldn't hear you clearly. and she just goes emo and "forget what I said".

Seriously, for a model that is obviously aware of her good looks, why is she so insecure around Ryuuji, a yankee boy that obviously she could get easily, if she wanted? Or is Ami a good looking model that is insecure, which absolutely does not compute.

And what the heck is it with Kitamura? The character is totally out of whack, one moment serious, one moment lethargic, one moment ERO hero during Chrismas going stark naked. smile.gif

it is not sudden, she gradually realise her feelings and because Ryuji did not leer at her unlike many guys, she found him fascinating. She is actually kind hearted but it is just that she did not censor herself when she comment on things. She is not insecure, she realise that Ryuji and the gang are genuine people with genuine personality. That is why she sticking around them.

The beach house scene. The anime capture the essence well. Go and watch again.

Kitamura real story is Sumire. The part of him and Taiga is just an obstacle just like Minorin and Ryuji.

The beach house scene was just her being insecure, at least for me, because she got interrupted and simply dropped the subject.

she realise that Ryuji and the gang are genuine people with genuine personality < lol, that statement reminds me of the train station scene, where they did the many hands dance, and she pretended not to know them...

Well, that's the lacking part of watching anime, they cut it short, Sumire was hardly fleshed out as a character, though that fight scene gave a lot of insight into her character. Otona poi.

Kitamura is there due to Taiga, n he has his own story which reason why show he used to like Taiga but soon enough Sumire stepped into his way. n also Kitamura is a link for Ami character as well. so without Kitamura (which is critical), the story would be not wat we seen, just a Taiga in love with unknown tiny character n Ami will be just another student transfer n will have nothing to do with em.

I see, I do wish Kitamura has a better ending though, in the end, he's just a plot device after all. >_>
