I think yours is a good mix  ... Others swear by modern substrates without soil, like Walter Pall and Robert Steven (only volcanic sand, he calls it soil), both authorities in bonsai.  It looks so clean and nice, no centipedes smile.gif, but I find it a bit inconvenient, at least in our weather. I don't have anyone to water them for me smile.gif

Bro, you can try some automatic watering solutions from Hydromate. System Powered by battery. Each time battery can support 4-6 months. Quite decent. Check out Www.hydromateirrigation.com I am using it too...

Thanks for the recommendation.
In my case, only God and manual watering can help.

Thanks ... but I wish I could, unfortunately, most of mine are indoors or in a balcony ... that's a great suggestion for those with gardens ...

Hi brett2013, I have same layout as yours perhaps, I keep my tiny potential bonsai at balcony too. Daily spray 2 times.

Thanks, from Singapore ...

I don't have much though, just starting, all basically unstyled yet  sweat.gif, and mostly indoors, the price of high-rise living.

Wish we had big bonsai farms here like there to choose a lot of bonsai ...

Here is a recent one I got, shohin Acer Buergerianum ‘Mitsuba kaede’ (http://bonsaial.wordpress.com/trident-maples/).  Arrived bald due to Autumn, but I think it got fooled that it's spring already due to our weather, so starting to leaf out after 2 weeks here ...

Like the plant. Awesome

And another recent one, Premna Obtusifolia (same as premna serratifolia).  Love the tiny leaves, but maybe a hundred leaves yellowed and fell off from the shock of being placed indoors abruptly.  It has stabilized well after about 2 weeks, and it turned out to be a fast grower, have to keep trimming.  Surprisingly, it's like my Wrightia, it likes water, at least in my place.

No smell from this "Smelly Lady", unless the leaves are misted wet, although one has to go real close to smell it.

"Rediscovered" this Boxwood - Buxus Harlandii at a messy corner of my garden.
It's quite amazing to find that the trunks have so beautifully  grown.

[attachmentid=3748286]

The foliage has turned yellow and the trunk is dark and dusty.
...... after some partial defoliation and trunk clean up.

And now in a bonsai pot.

[attachmentid=3748290]
And the next thing to do is "trunk whitening" as it grows
