Hasselblads are based on the 645 format (6cm x 4.5cm film), there are alot of systems out there that also use the same format, Rollei, PhaseOne, Sinar, Leaf, Mamiya, Fuji and others. But generally they can cost up to 100k ringgit with a top end digital back and lenses.

Well, Leicas aren't point and shoots because there's no LCD on them , they aren't film point and shoots either because they have optical guidance. But their optical guidance isn't like the used in SLRs where the image is taken from the lens. They're in a class of cameras called Rangefinders, where they have little optical rangefinders where 2 superimposed images are used to focus the camera (hard to explain, go midvalley Fotodata and molest a leica lah, only 9k for body only). There's only 1 leica digital camera and that's the M8, but old pros prefer the use of the film M6, M7 or MP with T-Max or Illford Delta (black and white film).

If one considers them point and shoots, they might as well be the most expensive PnS cameras out there. An M8 costs roughly 15k with the cheapest lens costing 5k, of course it's Weltzar quality. If you're totally nuts, you can buy a Noctilux, a lense of legendary quality for 20k, yes, lense ONLY. Hurrr. Plus there's no autofocus, auto mode, auto aperture, electronic aperture or even exposure lock on these cameras. It's a full manual. The leica MP doesn't even have electronics, film is spring wound on the MP.

hi sifu-sifu .. i have some noob question to ask,

1) what is x stop down ? for example, lets say my cam is F2.8.. does 1 stop down means setting the aperture to F5.6 ? (x refer to number eg 1, 2 ,3 )

2) I tried my tammy 90mm macro, but most of my shot looks like shit the quality were on par with a +4 hoya filter on a kit lense, 90% of my shots using tamron 90mm on F2.8 setting were out of focus on 1:1 magnification ...  is this got something to do with depth of field?

Yea, it's still quite ok to use it for group shots compared to 50mm which is kinda not practical cause you need to step back alooooot.

Well, since I'm not going to really go into macro...I'm just goina use it occasionally, so, why pay more when you know you are hardly going to use it right?
Besides...how could it be possibly be hard to use it? (Is it really that hard?)
Or, if there is a good macro lens I should consider getting. Which would not cost more then the raynox, then yes I would...

lens reversal... u take off the lens from the body.. reverse it..
put it nice nice to ur body... (u must hold it..) then snap la..
(i think this is what u are talking about) 50mm 1.8 can be quite a macro lens weih using this way..

Forget both and grab a used Canon EOS 30D + used Canon 18-55mm f3.5-5.6 IS and you are ready to go.
