QUOTE(barlogteoh @ Aug 11 2008, 06:44 PM) Hi Canon sifu... From ur post, u'll only be satisfy if you buy Canon. Just get 450D. You'll regret if u get 400D.My budget is RM2500, i have finalist my DSLR between Sony A300 twin kit lens(28-70 & 55-200), EOS 400D, 1000D & 450D. I dun plan to invest much in future except for flash. 1. A300 twin kit lens What i like most - fit my budget(cheap) , SSS, wireless flash, tilting LCD, very good Live View What i dun like - big and heavy, more noise, less choise and expensive lens 2. 400D What i like most - well built, light weight, overall good perfomance, more choise of lens What i dun like - IS lens expensive, no live view, no spot metering, smaller LCD 3. 1000D Any comment? price? quality? 4. 450D - Definately is the best among them, but over my budget. How is the live view perfomance? Pls advice ... thanks LifeView performance is bad compare to Sony A300. But believe me. U wan a Canon. |

Don't take individuality as a stand but a whole. Without family, who are we? I don't understand the situation so I can only give that as an advice. u dunno la. It seems moderation in this photography forum is a bit over.So you two just please stop it or bring it outside, settle it for once and all. ok? If you're reading every thread, it seems like we cannot form our own opinion. It seems like our opinion is crap. But I already learn this. So I just dun care liao. Everyone have their opinion. Pls respect our opinion. Although how much its differ. Coz everyone is unique. And pls don't over moderate this forum. It serve no purpose than to make everyone feel stress and uneasy. The reason there's so many fighting in this Photography thread is because of over moderation. Anything differ from moderator opinion is deleted or being denounced as crap. QUOTE(hornetEJ @ Aug 11 2008, 08:17 PM) To be frank, I'm still not sure what partial metering and spot metering does. Anyone care to explain a little bit how spot metering will affect the image quality? image quality not affected. Just that when u take picture of ur fren and ur camera face sun, ur frenwill become very dark. So u change to spot metering and point it at ur fren. It'll magically brighten up ur fren. Added on August 11, 2008, 8:35 pmquestion : wat is metering? answer : metering is camera trying to make ur picture brighter or darker. if u face sun, sure ur camera try to make it darker right? nope. A must is 85mm f/1.8. Why waste RM300? Just plunk it down for 85mm f/1.8. 50mm f/1.8 is very very slow. No USM. Even 50mm f/1.4 micro USM also very slow.

QUOTE(avenger @ Aug 12 2008, 09:19 PM) Yeah. It has no USM. [deleted unecessary comment]Even 50mm can open f/1.8, but in low light, the slow focus will reduce the efficiency of focussing in low light. So, IMO it's not a must. Don't get me wrong. I, myself love 85mm f/1.8 and I'm still saving for my 85mm f/1.8. u mean f/1.2??? I heard 135mm f/2L is a better deal This post has been edited by gogo2: Aug 12 2008, 09:49 PM |

QUOTE(jon_jai @ Aug 12 2008, 09:45 PM) think wat u want. Do u want more feature? Since the feature of 450Dis not much pro than 1000D, I'll just get 1000D. If u compare 1000D and 40D, then that's another question. Dun buy something in between. (I dunno what theory is this). Coz next time can upgrade to 40D which is big upgrade. While 450D upgrade to 40D might not be that much to someone. U dunno whether u like photography also. Just grab the cheapest and live with it. |

QUOTE(avenger @ Aug 13 2008, 01:24 AM) u have problem with that? Ok la...then sorry lor... how about this? everyone is a learner here. if you so expert, please come up with a Canon 40D teaching class, I will gladly join (if free course). p/s : as far as I know, lense focusing speed also related to body used on it. so maybe there is no confirmed theory for 50mm F1.4 USM being very slow. I'm not expert. Its confirmed by everyone on the internet that 85mm f/1.8 is faster than 50 f/1.4 because the USM mechanism of 85mm f/1.8 is real USM but 50mm f/1.4 is using new micro USM. The different with you and me is that I read a lot online. So I'm not expert but I just read more than you. This post has been edited by gogo2: Aug 13 2008, 07:54 AM |

QUOTE(avenger @ Aug 13 2008, 09:16 AM) so u saying u more expert than me (and most of us here) by JUST READING? get a life dude, u wont need that kind of speed in normal day shooting. the 50mm and 70-200mm F2.8 is more than what you need in real life. I've already said that I'm not expert. I just said i read more about 85mm f/1.8. I think you misunderstood me.I dont read, i use the equipment. get a life dude, dont judge everything by read. p/s : in case of auto focus slow, you can always use manual focus. Cheer up dude.... |

I wonder when camera will have less noise. I see camera is getting more and more noise. Canon 40D is also noisy. I think we need to wait for 50 years to get iso3200 = current iso400 noise
