From ur post, u'll only be satisfy if you buy Canon. Just get 450D. You'll regret if u get 400D.
LifeView performance is bad compare to Sony A300. But believe me. U wan a Canon.

than to make everyone feel stress and uneasy.

The reason there's so many fighting in this Photography thread is because of over
moderation. Anything differ from moderator opinion is deleted or being denounced
as crap. Hope that we're given certain leeway to talk.

yeah, no spot metering can use AE lock. THe one with * button.

He substitute spot metering with AE Lock..

image quality not affected. Just that when u take picture of ur fren and ur camera face sun, ur fren
will become very dark. So u change to spot metering and point it at ur fren. It'll magically brighten up
ur fren.

nope. A must is 85mm f/1.8. Why waste RM300? Just plunk it down for 85mm f/1.8. 50mm f/1.8 is very very slow. No USM. Even 50mm f/1.4 micro USM also very slow.

think wat u want. Do u want more feature? Since the feature of 450D
is not much pro than 1000D, I'll just get 1000D. If u compare 1000D and
40D, then that's another question. Dun buy something in between. (I dunno
what theory is this). Coz next time can upgrade to 40D which is big upgrade.
While 450D upgrade to 40D might not be that much to someone. U dunno whether
u like photography also. Just grab the cheapest and live with it.

I'm not expert. Its confirmed by everyone on the internet that 85mm f/1.8 is faster than 50 f/1.4 because the USM mechanism of 85mm f/1.8 is real USM but 50mm f/1.4 is using new micro USM.

The different with you and me is that I read a lot online. So I'm not expert but I just read more than you.

I would think that he mean using the lens, his 450D will underexpose. Underexpose
will cause more noise.

But APS-C really noisy. Noise start to creep in at ISO400. At ISO1600 or worst, ISO3200,
the RAW pic is really . But after NR, then ok dy

I wonder when camera will have less noise. I see camera is getting more and more noise. Canon 40D is also noisy. I think we need to wait for 50 years to get iso3200 = current iso400 noise
