xna is a development tool when you sign up you gain access to a library of useful tutorials and code samples. one thing to know is that you don't create games via drag and drop you have to write actual code. but the framework will help out emenssly great if you want to learn or do hobbyists game programming

Huh? it's USD99 per year, and it gives access to some pretty nifty sample code and tutorials. if you want to learn it's quite a good package.

Of course.. being able to compile and run the game on a 360 also is a plus.

dude, it's a BUSINESS. of coz it takes a lot of money (it's called an INVESTMENT). i dun see a problem getting the game up as they (XNA ppl) will provide their help since you've paid the fee.

it's like MSDN la. my company used to subscribe to that and we used to bug the MS tech line everyday for our problems.

pls speak something you have knowledge of.

take my advice, stick to "being good" in fragging ppl.

plus, who said of selling it JUST FOR MALAYSIANS? xbox live is available thru out the world la!
aiyoh!!!

what about if we do eventually ,make a great game from XNA, and decide to sell it.
ANyone know what legal/contracting process we need to go to?
What about royalties? How much of the money will come to us? 20%? 50%?

yes. the one and only Technophile. and you are?

anyway AK, i read somewhere that MS is keeping 30% from the sales with additional 10% - 30% more if your game are featured in storefront's special sections.

Developement has to be done on a Windows XP/Vista machine, using the freely available VS Express tools. So... bootcamp or errr.. watchamacallit Parrallels? should work. Remember, the USD99 is to join the creators club to get more tutorials and samples, and the ability to run on the 360. If you are not ready to take the jump yet, you can still run everything on your PC, and still have access to some of the content from what I can see.

This is supposed to be answered AFTER the new update, so... just go practice first.

One thing to note though... I must emphasize that XNA is NOT a game developement enviroment, it's a framework. So don't expect to be able to just drag and drop a game out ala Flash. This is true to life game developement so you're writing code for EVERYTHING.. but the starter kits are nice samples for you to take a look at.
