I'm planning to get a Nintendo Wii at the end of the year (school holidays), but I have a really old TV, hearing that things like PS3 needs a plasma TV to play, so I'm wondering if a non flat screen tv is able to play the Wii?? I don't want to make mistakes buying it and cannot play. I'm not that rich, so I'm actually saving money for the Wii, and I can't call my dad to buy a new TV... So?? please help me on some compatible TVs, before that, tell me the tv i specified is compatible or not first??

Those who say that you must have a plasma TV for your PS3 is lying. Sure it makes the experience better. But it is not needed. It works great with an old CRT TV if you want. Just maybe the graphics arent that good. As for the wii part. I think your old TV can work. As long as it has the AV jack. Mine is like 7 years old? The TV i mean. This post has been edited by BlueBerry~: Aug 4 2008, 04:20 PM |

Unless you want to play Wii games on your LCD Monitor, then use a tvbox, hook it up to your lcd monitor.Clicky on my signature! Damn i'm doing this too much. But anyway, a non-flat screen works just like a flat screen. There is no tv that is not compatible with the Wii, mi breda. Unless you're playing on a 15", then it's a different story. General conclusion Wii = fat tv friendly |

But I read from some other forums, they say that some tv will be blurry with the wii. And one of them say that when he plays, it has two strange black bars on the sides, and some sounds aren't heard that good!

I am having no problems with the house's CRT TV. |

Hi there,
I been playing my Wii on my old fat 21""TV ( this TV been serving me for more than 10 years and the brand is Panasonic!!! ) for the last 1.5 year playtime and everything still looks good. You just need to make sure your TV got those AV jacks, i think most of the old TV got only one Yellow ( Video ) and one White/Red ( Stereo Audio ). As long you got those 2 lubang, you are safe to play. Of coz there have some glitches, like the TV color screen changes color, after game load, but its still ok for me, as long i can see and move around. Those LCDTV set been tremendously getting price decresed for the last 6 months. Planning to get one of those 24", put in my room and play also. Anyone bought the WiiFit back home? How was it by the way? Good deal? Plan to buy, but it sort of pricey in the market now. This post has been edited by dave185: Aug 7 2008, 10:40 AM |

Well, I have those three holes you said, I not worried glitches, I'm just scared it will be like too blurry and cannot see anything, well since you said just little bit, then I'm confident already!I been playing my Wii on my old fat 21""TV ( this TV been serving me for more than 10 years and the brand is Panasonic!!! ) for the last 1.5 year playtime and everything still looks good.
