Guys, sorry I'm lazy and no time of browsing all the post. I need some practical answer. I wanted to change my SE G900 to this n82 adi lar, I fed up with my G900 adi after using my fren's n82. Seriously.... Tell you guys one thing, touchscreen for better web browsing? Bullshit! Comparing G900 and N82 web browsing experience, n82 is way way better due to a much faster processor.

Ok, sorry for complaining so much. Guys, just wanted to ask whether n82 battery life can last 2 days without switching off? My usage is about 40 sms per day, 15 mins call time, gaming + wifi about 30 mins per day + 10 photos capturing with or without flash. So is it possible? Need answer fast!

Hey thx for the reply guys. I still dilemma of switching my G900 to n82 since the battery life is that bad. I'm someone who can cope with super low setting to squeeze battery juice from phone, so I can bear with those settings. I hope It can help for lasting 2 days.

Just sold my G900 and here comes my n82. Pls add me to the list. thx!

However, it's still in Personal Warranty period, the previous owner might switch back with me within this 3 days but I hope not. hehe.

Anyway, I'm quite disappointed with the image viewer. At first, I was amazed by the speed of n82 for viewing picture like instant. After I plugged into my pc, I saw the phone actually generate thumbnails for picture. No wonder it's so fast... and I was like wtf....

I think it's normal gua. Once the first bar of battery dropped, it continues to drop even faster. Like for instance this morning around 10am I just left my phone standby itself without even using it like sms, taking picture and just an hour it started to drop 1 bar on and on until now it left 3 bars only. I really would like to suggest to Nokia to come out a battery which has at least 1200mAh capacity battery for Nokia N82 or at least the latest firmware software.

Sometimes the N82 shows the wrong information. When it's 6 bars, after I reboot the phone, it drops to 4 bars. Not all the time, but just some times. Sometimes when I suspect something because only 1 bar is used for all day long, I reboot but it shows the same thing.
*
lol... the battery kinda suck compare to SE. But I think firmware will help in increase battery life. But 1200mah battery? I dun think so. Since n82 has been in market for quite some time. Nokia marketing strategy will only benefit new phone but not improving old model phone's hardware. This will only be produce by third party manufacturer. Perhaps firmware is the best solution. Guys got any idea that n82 can increase batt life next firmware ? ^^ I mean if u have a good concept can tell nokia, mayb they pay u hehe ^^

For the forummer up stair. I just switched from SE G900 to n82 black.

For short summary,
Battery - G900
SE interface - G900 (This can be very subjective)
Torch function - G900
Everything else is n82.

This comparison is kinda short I know but I have filtered all the possibility out there.

I have one month plus of G900 experience and few years of SE phone experience and I think I'm capable to speak for this matter.

- If you think 208mhz is enuff, yes 208mhz can be very powerful but to think of Symbian UIQ 3.0. The OS sucks. Only buy that if SE upgrade it to 300mhz and above.
- If you think of 128mb ram is good in G900? No, it only improves if u compare to older model like M600i and etc. The OS itself ruined the power of 128mb ram.
- If you think touchscreen is important, you're wrong. G900 has no touch sensitive panel. Meaning both left and right softkeys must be press at the touchscreen. Accidentally over press softkey might happened everyday. If you think touchscreen is good for browsing, I'll tell u touchscreen is bullshit. I can say beside iPhone like touchscreen, every touchscreen phone is bull shit. Especially in G900, if u browse internet with default browser, you'll ended up using ur d-pad to browse. And as you know, G900 keypad is even sucker than n82. So you'll ended up frustrated of using touchscreen. ***IF you're kind of person who press handphone very fast***

Anything I missed out? icon_question.gif

**I'm not bashing G900. Those are just wat i've been through. Sigh, I hope I won't jeopardizes the person who bought my G900. It's still a great phone compare to older phone SE symbian phone. And I'm still a SE fan.

Guys, I know this might be illegal but you guys might be the best to explain these stuff.

Why there is sign and unsigned stuff with symbian phone? What are the difference and how do we know? It's be bothering me quite sometimes. I would have read the chinese forum for explanation but streamyx nowadays doesn't allow me to surf hong kong forum that explain those stuff. Anyway, it's explanation only rite? No harm. What is signed, unsigned, hsipda, binpda and all those unknown terms. Anyone?

Its working on my phone hehehe biggrin.gif , with calibration summore
smartmovie okok only ..... i use coreplayer support more format biggrin.gif
Signed means can be install in ur phone or all phone. Unsigned means havent sign and cannot install in phone. Its a new security platform by symbian. Streamyx sux cannot browse many hk forum >.< anymore since last few months. binpda is the most famous cr@cker group for symbian till now.

Anyway who the f**k cares bout warez, all the moderator and staff sleeping, they wont even check into this thread and even someone post games and they don even bother to delete.

GUYS!!! How unlucky of me these days. Yesterday I was changing my pant for badminton in toilet. And accidentally fall my n82 on the floor. That was like 1m height. And the result is the front upper part of the phone. (Near the right side of the screen) cracked. WTF.... now I'm thinking of changing the housing. How much do they usually charge for super high quality housing? And how's the quality of it?

Weird thing, dunno whether it's because of the fall, my phone auto shutdown for no reason in my pocket. However this only happened once just now. You guys having this problem b4?

anyone can help with the housing?

Norns, I think it's SDHC (SD high capacity) and it's called class 4. Class 4 means either read or write speed is 4MB/s which is quite fast adi. Correct me if i'm wrong. ^^

ya.... now i think n85 pawning. N79 is just a mid end phone like n78. If the buttons are good my next phone will be n85.

i would choose n85 over all the phones in the market ler. Since n82 is such a wonder phone, n85 has almost all the best of n82 except the xenon flash but a bigger OLED screen (save battery life) and 1200mah battery. I wait till n85 drop like current n82 price then i grab one for myself. BUT we all must remember to test by ourselves and dun forget the review. ^^

Sorry if I add talk alot about Nokia N85, this is my last time discussing about N85, the main disadvantage of N85 it's the lifespan of the blue coloured OLED. Which only last about a mere 5 years if you planning to use your phone for more than 5 years. That's all.
*
lol.... u can't be too sure about that. 5 years is a little too long. Since it's only cover the disadvantages of n82, n85 didn't give us some new technology which will increase it's product life. I'll give it 2 years of product life or even less. Android is coming out and symbian v3 is here for years adi, it's about time to change to v4 if there is. So at the end, n82 can still die with n85. I think.... smile.gif

i m pretty sure mostly is theme but i cant 100% confirm, probably hmm.gif some other plugins too..
for the n82's audio quality its quite great...other that depend on ur headphone
jus some themes tat from googling around... shakehead.gif
try set ur theme to nokia nseries 1 (original themes) and some other app like screen saver also turn it off, which is use bac 2 the original...
and then try restart ur phone and run the music using headphone for a time...
hope this help nod.gif
*
Ermm about the audio quality of n82, I dun think it's good. I've been using SE for years and Sony's audio quality is the best. I dun talk about the built in speaker of the phone, wat i mean is using external speaker and great headphone. With same external hardware, n82 produce only average sound quality comparing my previous phone, w810i and G900. For audio hardcore that really mind about superb audio quality, n82 is not ur choice. *peace*

malsing IS garmin's map..
the v1 guide is correct but got a few important lines censored d coz ahem stuff rolleyes.gif
well there's a user here who changed from G900 to N82..
forgot who..too many members here laugh.gif

It's me.... I'm the one who used G900 for a month and change to n82. For those who're dilemma, now is the situation is diff adi. Coz b4 that, G900 is expensive than n82 (both AP). But after 1 month G900 released, its price drop till lower than n82. So G900 has price advantage over n82.

But to think of the useless touchscreen which creates lagness while u're browsing, super suck camera (produces dull color photos), about 150mhz lower cpu speed (n82 has dual cpu, one for app, one for camera, which G900 oni has one for everything + much slower proc), and n82 has practically bigger screen than G900 if you measure them by ruler. (G900 is about 2.36inch)

After filtering, G900 has such advantage over n82,
- Clearer speaker sound
- Better battery life
- Cheaper price (but much much lower second hand value)
- LED for torch light function
- Better sound quality

However, touch screen is not an advantage becoz it's not practical (for me).

Anyway, I didn't regret even a little bit switching from G900.

Buddy if u keep on judging this way i think u wont manage to make your decision. As if u will use the phone till you RIP.  sweat.gif Relax la just buy and use.
*
lol use the phone till RIP... this one funny. If size and xenon flash are not matter, I would vote for N95 8GB for better battery life, large screen, and torch function. But it's way exp than n82 and slower transfer speed.
