QUOTE(xcutelilgal @ Aug 2 2008, 06:17 AM) London hehe, still remember me?? QUOTE(motibina2002 @ Aug 16 2008, 02:13 PM) Dear all, I'm going to work at Wimbledon, London soon next year for 1 year. What is the cost of living over there? Accommodation is provided by my company (not sure what type, mostly is service apartment, I think...) and I also got 40 pound per day (end up 1,200 per month) as my expenses allowance. Is 40 pound enough for the two of us over there (I will bring my wife too but she is not allow to work)? Thanks. 40quid a day is very good. unless you wine and dine in fancy places. me in london for about 4 year+ now. will be there about 2-3 years more....

QUOTE(Geminist @ Aug 18 2008, 08:10 PM) Satay House sounds nice, I never really been there before as it wasn't very inspiring to eat Malaysian food while here September - October seems to be a good season for seafood, anyone? http://www.lochfyne.com/It's a bit costly but I heard the stuff that is pretty nice. haha, i understand what u mean. btw, that place is pretty good i'd say if you didnt have the choice of coming back for the food. btw, you sir, have good taste in food! i've been staring at lockfayne's menu for sometime and even had it bookmarked >_< the reason that i didnt end up going is that none of my 'peers' are willing to 'spend that kind of $' on a meal. anyway, im going to eat as much as i can while im still back

there's a whole bunch of cons in the summer if you want something less commercial amecon which is 1 of the biggest in the uk (con) was quite good. went for the first time 2 years ago. the costumes were actually pretty good.

QUOTE(liew_jls @ May 2 2009, 03:48 AM) placement in europe good wat.. not easy to get a placement nowadays... the stupid recession cause a lot students can't get a offer.. good luck btw.. placements arent that hard to get. you just need to know where to apply. there are plenty of student bodies that does that kind of thing. btw, my placements arent paid, most of them arent. so its costing me monies to be in a placement walau... £300-400 a month? wat did you spend huh? i suppose ebay also doesn't require that much? 3-400 a month isnt that much if you socialise often and shop around everynow and then the numbers add up quite quickly....

london you can get 100 or less a week, but not central london. you'd be talking probably from zone 2-3 onwards....

QUOTE(liew_jls @ May 3 2009, 05:04 PM) serious? hmm... then if the office in Zone 1, then where you guys suggest to stay(cheap and safe)? i personally dont think there is 'cheap n safe' in central london. i've noticed that the 'safer' places are the slightly more mid-up market area which mean more rent. if there's such a place i'd like to know where too, i'll need to find a place to live next yr too but every1 has a different expectation and preference so i think its hard to pin point a place that is good. where in zone 1 u are looking at?
