People please beware with this RM909 iphone scam.


I myself came across it and currently looking for an iphone for myself, i had to call up the person.
A male voiced picked up the phone and told me that he is the agent and if i can sms him my email he will forward it to the company.
Then i asked him if these iphones are genuine and not those replicas made in china..he answered 'Yes they're genuine from USA with warranty' (obviously he would be affirmative).

So through out the day,the "company personnel" and I exchanged emails on some facts and shipment details.
I explained that i would require him to snap a photo of the product with his name next to it as proof that it's available for real. But in return
he sends me a link claiming his company is registered in UK and is legit.

I had my suspicion from the start after looking at the exceptionally below market price of the iphone.secondly the emails sent to me were in very informal manner ( like tidak-apa case ). a lot of errors in the language and it was just too fake. Finally the company personnell emails me the payment description payable via MoneyGram ( haaa ! point one of a fraud case ). But nevermind,i wanted to see how far this goes. In fact,i deal with a few legit computer peripheral companies in Hong Kong and China exporting component/peripherals to trans-continental cities like Moscow and Madrid. Those companies have a very professional approach in their communications be it written or spoken. This is to say that i have some knowledge how to out run fraudsters.

Ok so back to our story, The payment receiver was supposed to be somebody in UK named Alex Hamilton .
Immediately i started to google that name in many variations of phrases (this is what i do everytime i deal with a new person).
Many attempts of search but nothing was found...finally at one point when i entered "Alex Hamilton iphone scam" i found a page that proved my suspicions absolutely right . it claimed that this person named Alex Hamilton is a nigerian and a big time fraudster who claims to be selling iphones and has a company in texas ! On the other hand, i was told was he is based in UK.

Looks like this fellow has swiped off Alibaba.com as well. I pity the genuine traders on that site (if there are any left).
While browsing for more evidence i ended up here on lowyat.net which i'm a member too and i felt that it's utmost necessary for me to expose this truth to my fellow lowyatters


So folks,there you have it a real story deciphers. We all want the latest tech gadgets and if offered for a lower price then it's a jackpot but reality doesn't permit such a thing. Instead of being blinded by the outrageously low prices and then losing our money,might as well wait and save up more cash and most importantly buy such gadgets in a face-to-face situations from an authorized retail store. It's a dog-eat-dog world out there and for money people will do anything under the sun.

For those of you who want the email correspondence between me and that fraudster,can pm me. Expose yourself to the tactics and improfessionality used by the fraudsters.
