Freezes at Gamertag sign outs and sign ins are normal. At least, they are in my experience. Used to happen to me a whole lot. It was my modem that was f***ing up. After I fixed it, no problems anymore and no more lags on multiplayer. That lasted a good month and resulted in a very bad Kill-death ratio drop.

The freezes on the classic game seems weird though. So yea, IMO you should take Tech2's advice and trade it in. Don't take chances especially with something that costs more than a good pair of jeans.
