chuanchuan, did u check ur firmware version inside the cam?
or u check it from the EXIF?

Your distance from the subject.
I was very near to the light source (the street lamp).
The surrounding area is also quite well lit by the street lamp, so I couldn't use 60s shutter or else u all will be seeing a big patch of orange color.

LoL.....Mr LKM, u planning to take stars only izzit?
Not every area is suitable for taking starry skies especially in the cities bcoz there are ambient lighting coming from street lights and buildings.

Unless u live at the seaside with beaches, I don't think it is so easy to capture stars.
And you should believe in the Lumix LX3.
If it is base ISO u r going for, the LX3's base ISO performance won't disappoint.
It is as noise free as u can get from a compact.


And do try to google up the type of photos u want.
I believe there are tons of LX3 night shots on the internet now.
Try flikr, they even have a dedicated LX3 album where everyone can contribute their LX3 shots.

i checked the firmware inside the cam already, it is correct>Ver.1.1, but EXIF shown Ver.1.0, u can try to check urs, bcs i checked ah xin's photo also same result with me.
