I'm not quite sure whether they do sell lens cap. If you really want back the original lumix lens cap, you may request to order.
If you don't mind any lens cap, u may easily get one not more than RM20 from ebay. :-)
About the lens, i shall let all the seniors here to do the talking. Haha...

QUOTE(Mr.LKM @ Dec 15 2008, 09:51 PM) Hello, could anybody help me to do an experiment by shooting the stars? I would like to see the result with using the settings as follow. Aperture: F2.0 Exposure: 60s/30s ISO: 50, 100, 200 If ISO200 gives too much noise, then you can forget about it. Thanks to anybody who're so kind to help me. Hi, I can only help you out a bit. Hope u don't mind? You mentioned about STARS, but I can only shoot some lamp post for you :D The minimum ISO for LX3 is 80.

All 4 photos were taken at the same setting, Aperture: F2.8 ISO: 200 Exposure: 1/10s The only thing that I change is the MF
Can you please tell me which is ur favorite shot? And why? So that I can improve from here, thanks!!! This post has been edited by aXin: Dec 16 2008, 04:17 AM

QUOTE(PCHo @ Dec 16 2008, 08:09 AM) I like shot #3. Exposure just nice. But then it would've looked better with f/8.0. U should try getting the same exposure using f/8.0 bcoz it will give u the "starry effect" when taking light sources such as lamp posts. You would have something like this..... Aperture - f/8.0 Shutter - 10s ISO - 80The Test 2, pic 3, is having the same setting as yours... But yours seems so pretty. Why arhh.. ? QUOTE(Mr.LKM @ Dec 16 2008, 11:34 AM) aXin, thanks a lot for your contribution! I find the shot quite nice. It seems like the noise isn't that significant, well, not that easy to conclude yet. I'm a newbie astrophotographer so I want to see if this camera is capable of shooting a wide area of sky without giving much noise. Since the background of the sky is near to black, noise is certainly obvious if there's. Thanks again! No worries, I also also newbie still learning stage!

QUOTE(PCHo @ Dec 16 2008, 02:36 PM) chuanchuan, did u check ur firmware version inside the cam? or u check it from the EXIF? Added on December 16, 2008, 2:39 pmYour distance from the subject. I was very near to the light source (the street lamp). The surrounding area is also quite well lit by the street lamp, so I couldn't use 60s shutter or else u all will be seeing a big patch of orange color. kekekek...... Wow, I learn something new now! Thanks!

QUOTE(Mr.LKM @ Dec 16 2008, 05:10 PM) Cute ant.. I would say. aXin, I would appreciate if you could point your camera up to the sky with ISO80 and 30s exposure~ Thanks a lot It's raining season now, always cloudy night. Else raining cats n dogs. I agree on what PCHo said below:
QUOTE(PCHo @ Dec 16 2008, 05:24 PM) LoL.....Mr LKM, u planning to take stars only izzit? Not every area is suitable for taking starry skies especially in the cities bcoz there are ambient lighting coming from street lights and buildings. Unless u live at the seaside with beaches, I don't think it is so easy to capture stars. And you should believe in the Lumix LX3. If it is base ISO u r going for, the LX3's base ISO performance won't disappoint. It is as noise free as u can get from a compact. And do try to google up the type of photos u want. I believe there are tons of LX3 night shots on the internet now. Try flikr, they even have a dedicated LX3 album where everyone can contribute their LX3 shots. QUOTE(chuanchuan90 @ Dec 16 2008, 05:28 PM) i checked the firmware inside the cam already, it is correct>Ver.1.1, but EXIF shown Ver.1.0, u can try to check urs, bcs i checked ah xin's photo also same result with me. Yeah, I also noticed that.

QUOTE(ianho @ Dec 18 2008, 09:59 PM) there's actually more than what u see. The JPEG comes out already corrected. RAW conversion without barrel correction shows a lot more distortion. It is good to see you back, bro.

QUOTE(Sichiri @ Dec 26 2008, 12:20 AM) Hey guys, I've finally got my own Black LX3 from Pixels at Pavilion (but they then redirected me to Key Color at Midvalley to pick up stock and swipe card for installment plan. ) got it for RM1799, but felt abit cheated because the 4GB memory card is not even SDHC, its a normal SD card from Nikon! D: set includes -Nikon mini-tripod -screen protector -pouch -JVC travel bag (free) -4GB Memory card Show us the photo that what your purchase included? Kind of curious for the Nikon Mini tripod, pouch and JVC bag. QUOTE(chyap99 @ Dec 26 2008, 01:10 AM) any card reader recommand? i just bought one all in 1 card reader brand AVF, it read very slow from my sandisk utra 8 gb card. I got mine in Harvey Norman, I am not with it now, so didn't recall the brand. It seems quite stylish and can read almost everything now. And very fast! RM75. Quite a few colors green n pink and etc. I got mine pinkish!

QUOTE(Mr.LKM @ Jan 20 2009, 02:55 AM) Hmm.. The obstacle is that I also want a camera to be capable to attach to a telescope. I think I shall get the LX3 with a dedicated TEC cooled CCD camera for my astrophotography purpose. I am a bit closer to LX3 now. Haha Does anyone think that the price is going to be lower before CNY or after CNY? i don't think the price is gonna change much, for this current price getting a semi pro camera it's really worth it. well, the sooner u get ur camera, u will have better chances/excuses to use it. Since CNY is coming, u may test shoot or shoot with great memories.. Been seeing you wanting to buy this camera since nov anyway.

QUOTE(kiawin @ Jan 23 2009, 08:43 AM) photo selangor (the distributor) quoted me RM50, but no stock. so I got it from yamiya, RM70... i register online, so... i can login straight. but it is stated as default 1 year warranty. I guess the extended warranty need to either wait, or request manually Errr, since u r using it, i wanna ask u. The RM70 can tahan the weight of LX3? I thought the RM120 will best suite LX3. Please advice??
