watched Simpsons BD this morning before work (woke up at 3).. comment..

PQ - Motionflow set at standard and the movie is near perfect.. right after the movie ended, i turned on astro and simpsons was on starworld.. OMG i cant belive at the amount of DIRT in the video!

AQ - dtsma 5.1, hmm no real benefit over the lossy 5.1..

storyline - its a freaking simpsons movie!!!!!!

i really dunno. i havnt seen the uncut version.. but i know the one we got US/UK is the cut version..

australian, japanese and german BD released are 3 examples of uncut version of cr007 out on bd..

k, just finished watching Harold and Kumar - Escape from Guantanamo Bay BD.. comments are..

PQ - vc-1, well its clear when nothing is in motion.. but my motionflow was working double time with this BD.. but thank god the storyline makes up for the lack of quality.. its pretty poor..

AQ - dtsma 7.1, hmm the sbl/sbr dont get much spotlight

storyline - poon handler... nuff said..

extras - the deleted scenes, extra clips are all in hd format with the 7.1 audio.. and.. theres this 'change the movie' feature thats just SoooOoo coOL! basically u can change the story here and there...

wah must be worse for u since on bigbigbig screen.. lol, im late for work today... took time making a msian tax xls for projectors in the yamaha thread.. why do i bother... no idea.. the geek in me got bored haha

PQ - i think it was avc.. definitely better than expected..

AQ - i dont know how i didnt notice this DDTruHD and DTSHDMA! haha dtshdma sounded better for my liking.. and the motion sound was nice~~~~

Storyline - seen it no idea how many times edi, but.. still good~ more nostalgic now.. haha

sell! and get the new ver when its out.. cuz better sell it now b4 the new one comes making the old cr007 reduce price..

no bd with Tom or D*ck yet.. (fun with d*** and jane would be nice on BD), and im not gonna buy the dirty harry series... i do have the harry potter collection though..

ok just finished watching Usual Suspect ... comment inc~

PQ - mpeg2, alot of dark scenes, and purposely blured shot.. no saturation, no color went off in any scene.. well there were SOME scenes where blue hues was a bit overwhelming.. but nothing to complain..

AQ - dtshdma 5.1, i thought it was going to be another dialogue fest (esp. with a char name verbal!) but i was fortunately wrong, a lot of ambiance.. nice attention to detail... no complain~

storyline - well when the first thing u hear in a movie turns out to be the sound of piss racketeering on metal... u know its going to be good.. and i was right.. a bit predictable but still GOOD plot.. not so good replay value though... :s

*correction on the previous post.. = wow typoed Speed into 'miami vice' i guess i was thinking of that when typing.. big big mistake.. hahaha no i dont have miami vice yet.. i got speed..

hmm lets assume 99%of all shipments reach the buyer safely (v.good % imo), then assume 100 bd player imported into msia in a mth.. 1 player sure dont reach buyer (maybe someone tapao? ketam/po$guy/cargoppl/etc), then now assume 1k bd imported into msia per mth, 100 will not reach buyer (maybe someone tapao again)?. now make that into a year.. 12 guys in the supply chain have a bd player now with 1200 discs spread amongst themselves or others which want to keep/sell/give/donate to others

PQ - blured and faded in some scenes.. had to re-tweak my tv settings to get it right.. even then its still just 'ok'

AQ - LPCM, good! lots of soundtracks, ambiance was involving, dialogues all clear hehe

storyline - well felt like a mistake purchase the first 15-20mins.. then after an hour it becomes interesting.. but after awhile u realise that the story is just tooo dragging and it takes too long to make a simple point.. i looked who the director was... ben afleck! lol.. if ur new to this things then MAYBE its interesting.. but ive seen it all too much for it to be something.. though the ENDING is kinda 'spectacular' in a sense that u just WONT guess it ever. but at the same time 'stupid' in a way because of just how absurd it is.. ben afleck is trying hard to get his idea across the tv.. too hard it seems.. haha just borrow it from someone.. no use buying it for keeps

Added on August 24, 2008, 4:48 pmok.. just finished watching Glory Road (woohoo 2nd BD for today).. comments~

PQ - avc, dont expect much.. its a sports movie, the pq is lower than gridiron gang, the color tends to favor green more... but.. after awhile, u wont notice it..

AQ - lpcm, Not Bad.. as its a basketball movie, u can expect some good Thumping action all over the place.. hehe

storyline - hmm i think this is really a 'to each his own' movie.. eventhough the ending is Very predictable.. but how the movie got there from start to finish is something else.. u learn alot about the hardship back then evolving black bballers and a bunch of other things.. think of it like a history lesson.. hehe not bad.. enjoyed it
