If you are on mac, you need to remove .zip from Terminal

Yes makeitmine does text, but you don't understand me. change the text exactly to MY MAXIS and the text WILL change into logo.

I got problem just like you but now with method said, I got the logo





P/S: a message to TS, this method is true to those who JB their iPhone using Pwnage Tool 3.1 which got blank carrier logo/text

i hope i don't any other tweak to make it works. try do put those 2 logo files into Unknown.bundle folder (same place as My_maxis.bundle) via ssh and do the makeitmine trick.

So I hope I can recall what i did here

You need to install openssh on iphone and connect to it using forklift or cyberduck if on mac.

Then go into your iphone /System/Library/Carrier Bundles/ folder where "Maxis_my.bundle" folder reside. there is also "Unknown.bundle" folder.

Copy Default_CARRIER_MY MAXIS.png and FSO_CARRIER_MY MAXIS.png you designed/copy before into "Unknown.bundle" folder.

Then use makeitmine trick by enter MY MAXIS, please be advised CASE sensitive.

Please report if it's work. I am going to rejailbreak my iphone to reproduce it.

Here I attached Default_CARRIER_MY MAXIS.png and FSO_CARRIER_MY MAXIS.png for Maxis and Hotlink

There is a bug in PwnageTool 3.1 and 3.1.3 that caused the carrier text disappear, something about signed code or something. You need to manually do it with makeitmine. Actually, you can display ANY telco logo by put DIGI/Celcom logo into Unknown.bundle folder and use makeitmine with MY DIGI or MY CELCOM!!

You can use fakeAPN, a plugin for SBsettings to temporarily switch your valid APN into fake one. Sometimes, you need to use GPRS/3G to do certain thing. So you can switch it anytime! Do search on Cydia.

I think APN for MMS or GPRS/3G access on the phone itself is out of question from tethering. If someone can't use native tethering and need to use PDAnet, then his/her APN is fine and he STILL can use MMS or data on he iphone. so, MMS/Data access on iphone is not tethering related issue.

Install ultrasn0w with Cydia. if it still doesn't work, install fuzzyband and make sure the baseband is good.

Was your iphone detecting carrier with 2.2.1 before?

NEVER USE blackra1n if your iphone is not Maxis set! Got use Pwnagetool 3.1.4 instead or you will lose the signal.

Maxis set = Singtel set = they are both FACTORY UNLOCKED iphone, no need to worry about unlocking and all. not like AT&T set..

What do you mean without 3G, you mean GPRS? There are someplace in Malaysia which doesn't have 3G coverage and use GPRS. The MMS/APN setting is same. As long as you use a Maxis set with Maxis or Hotlink you should leave the default setting, don't touch anything and the settings will be ok

The problem is your photo/video size is more than 300KB. you need to check the size and keep the size below 300KB if you want to send via GPRS. You would like to switch to 3G when you want to send mms because it is much faster, there is a switch on SBsettings so you can keep the battery life without switch to 3G all the time.

I found a solution who those want to enable tethering on their iphone. have a look at this thread. USe at your own risk, or you will end up restore.

These instructions are of OS X. I used Snow Leopard, I don't know if Leopard ships with bspatch or not, but if it does then you should be good. Also, make sure you have MobileTerminal installed on your phone.

* First get this file and put CommCenter.patch on your Desktop:

* Copy /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/CoreTelephony.framework/Support/CommCenter to your Desktop also.

* Open the Terminal and:


* Now go ahead and delete CommCenter now from your Desktop and rename CommCenter-hacked to just CommCenter.

* Rename CommCenter on your iPhone to CommCenter.backup in case something bad happens, so you have a backup.

* Copy the new CommCenter to your iPhone.

* SSH into your iPhone or use MobileTerminal as root and chmod +755 the new CommCenter so that it's executable.


* Restart your phone.

* Check your Setting > General > Network, and you should have the Tethering option. If you dont Go to http://help.benm.at on your phone and install the mobileconfig just like you did in 3.0.

ANY modification is considered Jailbreak! Please people restore your iphone using itunes before go to maxis centre.

you are right jailbreaking is not needed to upload ipcc file using itunes. but you must understand the maxis staffs...what more they know about these jb... it's safe to restore your iphone before going to maxis center

What will you loose if you restore? all files/backup will be restored back to your iphone once it syncs with itunes...so no worry la
