I want to purchase a console game for my son, but i don't know which one to choose PS2/PS3/Wii. Can anyone advise me the difference. Can I get non genuine games for PS3 / Wii. and where is the best place to get a console and wht is the cost?

no, ps3 only sell original games. but, for wii n ps2. yes, u can get the pirate 1. lol.

I help to clarify for PS3.
You can't get any lanun game for PS3, only original games available for PS3, the price for the original BD games range from RM80 - RM200 depends on the game. If you want cheap games u can buy 2nd hand game which is around RM50 - RM150.

But if u want to buy non genuine games / lanun that sell only RM12 per games, u can try Xbox 360 because this console can be modded.

and PS2 lanun Rm4 per game, Wii Rm5 per game and 360 game Rm7 per game.... ....

For me if ur kid below 12 .. better get Wii la... more fun and lots of family game.. ... so no need to worry about violence game.. for 360 of coz can modded but.. scare kena legendary 3ROD in 6 month cant claim warranty.... ...

Or you can rent PS3 games from me.

Im a console gamer. I will recommend my son (if i have) to play latest console and the past console as well =P

If ur house got HDTV, get an Xbox 360 if u think rm180 per game is ridiculous.
If ur house got HDTV, get a PS3 if u are rich enough to afford RM 180 per game average.

If ur house got no HDTV, get a PS2 if u cant afford rm 180 for every game and ur kids are playful and naughty.
If ur house got no HDTV, get a Wii if u are think RM 5 per game is reasonable and make ur kids very good boy so they wont spoil the Wiimote or Knunchuk controller because they are wireless and they need to swing it very often

PS2 still has the biggest library of games at the moment as for as i know.
Games galore for kids
Of course there are mature violent games too but it's up to you to monitor and watch what games are bought.
It's also cheapest of the 3 consoles at the moment.
Games will be around RM4, console maybe around RM600-700++.
Search the Console Couch thread for SCE, GAMERS SOLUTION, GAMERS HIDEOUT threads etc. These are some of the trusted sellers.

Get him a handheld la...sony psp and nintendo ds is pretty affordable. Furthermore, he won't disturb u watching the tv

after that, he can play movie, mp3 and even internet using that handheld. Since u're not a gamer..this is the cheapest way to go ...oh yes..the PS2 is also a choice if u're low on budget.

PS3 only has genuine games sold in the market. Pirated are impossible for PS3 to fit in. If you are looking for PS3 games. Check the BUY/SELL/TRADE section for 2nd hand games. They are worth it.

I dealed with RON4 last sunday a 2nd hand game. This is how smartly we need to look at the budget constraints if you are likely to get PS3 for your son.

ps2 dah la , seriously more then enough for ur son that never tasted ps2 , plus u dont hv to rack ur brain for lcd tv la what not la , just plug ps2 into a normal standard tv and watch the good time roll man . dont over think stuff.

OT a bit,is the recent moded X360 stable oledi? I heard previously the mod sometimes make it hang or cant read disc.Also,how's the HD quality if compare with PS3 ?

well mySathia, from what i can summarize from most of the post here,

1. how old is your son? different console have different appeal and target market. if he's 12 or below, get a wii or a DS. if not, anything from PSP to PS3 will be good. wii and DS has more kid friendly software than others.

2. what's your budget? investing into a console, you must also take account on your financial capability in providing him with new softwares (games) every now and then. most games sell between RM80 to RM250 depending on type and availability. and pls do not succumb to the piracy thing, you are teaching the kid how not to value digital artists and publishers.

3. while PS2 has the biggest library, keep in mind that most of the games are out of reach unless you are willing to spend some time combing the net for the older ones.

4. all current gen consoles (Wii, X360 and PS3) has some sort of parental control in case you need one. X360 has a password protected feature to limit your son's gaming time. you can set this up for his console. i dunno about PS3 tho.

so i guess that should cover most of the stuffs here plus a few.

NOPE...THERE IS SOME SHOPS AROUND KL SELLING UNMODDED CONSOLE LIKE GAMERS HIDEOUT ; CAUSE WE MOST LYN FORRUMERS SUPPORTIN' GENUINE CONSOLE AND GAMES.

FOR THOSE SEARCHING FOR MODDED CONSOLE ; THEY MUST BE GREAT SUPPORTERS OF PIRACY THINGS.....
