is there an application to display a bigger clock during the standby screen and also the screensaver mode?

More importantly is in the standby where the digital clock is so small in size.

I'm hoping to have one like gDesk but not using gDesk. tongue.gif

Thera is a standard option how to make your front clock bigger but you have to disable the standby application under the device option... but no longer shortcut apps in our screen.

I am using MCleaner, it can block calls and sms based on our personal blacklist lists.

To sacrifice the shortcuts is too much...i'm beginning to feel need to use GDesk, but kinda stupid if I only want to have a bigger clock.

So do i need to pay for the Garmin XT 5.00(0) software?
*
try using garmin 4.10.80 or 4.2.20, cos with Garmin XT 5.00 I foresee no end to your cra.cking problems / questions.

Anyway there is a lot of mixed reviews about it to say the least. A lot of the new features will crash your phone easily.

Hey. Thanks for the info. Still confusing whether to buy a holux and pair it up or a garmin nuvi 200w instead.
*
if you have money please get the nuvi 200w. The only advantage to using your P1i against a dedicated navigator I can see is if you somehow use it for walking, then you might not want to carry a 3-4" device looking like a tourist.

the other advantage I can think of is if you plan to pair with things like notebook or other PDA's in the future, then maybe you want to have just a receiver.

But i thought if i have the garmin software and paired up with a holux, it's function is almost the same with the nuvi?
*
the nuvi has a much bigger screen that will be a lot easier use for drivers.

For my P1i and I've seen similar occurence in youtube for other phones, Garmin XT can easily crash, so you will be frustrated.

Use coreplayer or power movie that can be found on page one.. I prefer coreplayer..  biggrin.gif
It means that the advantage that nuvi have on holux is that it will not crash and have a bigger screen?
*
The advantage is on nuvi vs garmin xt on p1i. Nothing to do with a holux receiver.

Or let holux pair up with other gps programs like navizon or others? Crash happens because of the gps programs and not the gps receiver rite?
*
I'm quite sure the crash happens due to software, as I tried without receiver and it also crashes.

Route66, TomTom and wayfinder all been reported used with success on the net.

Other programs can work, but do they have an up to date Malaysia map?

also, if you're already using a garmin bluetooth gps receiver, you don't have to pay anymore.

w960i should be able to run any version from 4.0 to 5.0.

As long as you have a genuine Garmin Bluetooth receiver there should be no problem at all.

just update and bump,

I have been using my P1i with Garmin for several rounds of 1hr drives, seems like using 2D map with Track up orientation and normal detail is fine enough without crash.

Looks like it will guarantee crash with High / Highest detail after 2-4 minutes of vigorous map browsing, but using normal / less detail I can extend it to more than 5 minutes WITHOUT crashing, a major success....

Its too awakening to press the middle of the screen for the default alarm's snooze ...ZZZzzzz

I use WRT54g (Linksys) and my P1i can only connect in B Mode-only.

Mixed B/G mode cannot connect.

The same with my PSP.

I experienced quite a few hot spots outside with B/G mode and my P1i can connect. In fact I have never detected a hot spot that cannot connect...maybe that hotspot is G only is not shown on wireless scan.

I got asked this question over PM, just want to share it out:

Question:
i facing the same problem with u
do u know how to settle it?
I am playing aroung with Garmin XT (4.20(20)) software without any GPS receiver.

Everytime I install the software, it runs for the 1st time without problems, but once I restart it will hang / time out after 10-15 secs with the following notice:

Application Closed
GMobile XT
Reason Code
KERN-EXEC
Reason number
3

Answer:

i'm afraid there is no real solution here.

First things first:
To get rid of this problem you need to cleanly uninstall the software from your phone.

1.Uninstall in control panel
2.Delete whatever folders created if install in C: (phone memory) or directly delete d:\garmin and or c:\garmin
3.Restart phone.
4.Install again and set the map details to low or least.
5.Don't browse the maps in such an aggressive manner until at least you use a proper GPS receiver.
6.The best way to browse a map is to actually click the map on the edge of the screen first, let the software know the new center, before dragging the edge / screen. This reduces the crashing incidence.
7.To be honest I still have hang / crash once in a while. The only advice I can give is be patient and don't browse too much on the maps, try and use Garmin mapsource in PC!!
