Can I start off by asking if there is any difference between symbian software, s60 software and uiq 2 / 3 softwares?

Can P1i install all the above? (meaning they are cross compatible?)

My main query is regarding some symbian bible apps and also Garmin XT app.

Hi guys and sifus, really stumped here,

I am playing aroung with Garmin XT (4.20(20)) software without any GPS receiver.

Everytime I install the software, it runs for the 1st time without problems, but once I restart it will hang / time out after 10-15 secs with the following notice:

Application Closed
GMobile XT
Reason Code
KERN-EXEC
Reason number
3

In order to re-install I have to clear out the whole memory card and uninstall.

Is there anything I'm missing here?

is there any free / software to do screening of calls like reject black list, accept at certain times etc?

I found one : Advanced Call manager but needs to pay..

Depends on whether the hotspot or the access point is set to:
B only (very rarely)
G only (sometimes)
B/G (usually)
N (too bad)

If B only and B/G usually u will be able to connect

dotsis and ipmart forums share a lot of pirated stuff without restriction.

IINM can do profiles just the method is tedious...my phone not with me right now

the built in web browser (opera mobile) is by default switch off the photo / images.

Opera mini will download everything.

That factor also important to determine the speed..not to mention processing time to zoom out etc...I really like the zoom feature of mini but at the same time I NEED tabbed browsing from Mobile...when is it gonna combine haih...

I don't have a bluetooth gps yet, I'm also facing the same hanging issue.

i find that everytime i browse the map, surely will hang and will have to fully reinstall + delete all files before can even open the program again.

right now if i just play around without browsing the map is 100% no hang.

do you still have this problem if you pair with a Bluetooth GPSr and browse in the maps?

sometimes when i create an SMS, the 'To:' field will offer me a list of people I frequently SMS.

Do you guys know how to turn this ON all the time and also refer to a frequent caller / msg list?

seems like 'after' is over exposed, if you look at your remote control holder side walls, u will see loss of details in 'after'

to me, if you want the 'after' effect better use the EV slider on the side or do some post process with photoshop.

may I ask : Compared to actual lighting conditions, which photo is more accurate to the amount of light you have?

Does anyone know if I install a certain program / application to the phone memory, what folder is it?

I've been looking for my Garmin folder (supposedly installed to phone memory) but can't find it.

Interestingly I can find some other folders like DocToGo etc in C:\

I want to add certain unlock files to the working folder to unlock the maps. usually if it is placed in the Memstick, the folder is X:\garmin\gmapsupp.unl but for the life of me I can't find garmin folder in C:\ using Swiss.

Hi All,

Just want to write a quick report after using P1i with Holux M1000 and Garmin XT 4.10.80

1. Accuracy is excellent ( I think this is due to the GPS receiver)
2. Using MFM map 1.03, routing is quite good (been using it around Ipoh and Lumut area for 1 week)
3. The application can really hang easily during map browsing. Almost 100% hang rate, if I really slowly browse (10-25% area change) it can stand on for about 5 mins browsing, if I browse really quickly (40% area changes etc), then it can hang within 30 secs.
4. Bad thing about the hang is you will have to reset your phone (really switch on and off), and it is a biatch to restart a smartphone.
5. Good thing is if you have an active route, it will still be there after reset (!)
6. I find that copying the maps to C:\garmin\ will improve on the hang issue by extending your browsing time to maybe 7 minutes. With this amount of time u have to patiently and efficient do all the map browsing you need. You can actually exit the map browser and re-enter without problem.
7. Tried briefly 4.20(20) I think it is slightly better in terms of input methods (can recognize space bar, whereas 4.10 cannot log the space bar). Seems more stable but cannot tell since only 20 minutes of use, still encounter hang once.
7. Currently using Garmin XT 5.00(0), after 3 times map browsing, still no hang, but significantly slower map loading times. If this is a trade-off against the hang, i have no problem....


Anyway I hope TS can add some of this info as general Info.

are you sure 5.0 is faster? I tried it in actual driving / navigation but I find my vehicle is about 2s ahead of my GPS location.

is it hard enough to protect against scratches? Want to get one if can...

can I know if there is a way to create a keylock shortcut or better still, maintain using the (holding) * key or * + lock dialog box on the screen?

I dont like the Iphone Lock, simply as it takes so damn long to load.

Usually keylock needed in very timely situations, not to play around

welcome...and good deal with the adapter...i've been looking for one since forever....

I am using this technique:
1. Assign * key to the phone button / icon
so * + * + lock key (on screen) = lock
this is the fastest but 3 key

2. On pages where u dont want to have a phone icon, assign a transparent, non-selectable phone icon.
