I would like to share my experience of using a water filter for drinking and cooking for 5 years.

Poke open its cover last month and shocked to see some growth in the filter itself!!! cry.gif

All the while we have been drinking contaminated water rupa-rupanya! icon_question.gif

Well it was my own mistake not to change the filters according to their schedule.....but hey.....I tried but somehow when I got to know how much more I need to fork out for the filter replacement.....I just said to myself....tak apalah....lain kali boleh buat.... whistling.gif

Anyway....I came to conclusion that buying a water filter system is similar to acquiring a photocopier for the office....it needs excellent support service in order for it to perform as it should. That's how I came across Coway water filter at www.mycoway.net

The good thing is it's not just water filter, but also a water dispenser for hot, room and cold temperature. Some more it's having digital interface which makes it kind of cool with LED lighting.

Unlike other brands that sell almost every type of products including water filter that could be manufactured in China which they then put on their logo stickers, Coway do the R&D and manufacture themselves in Korea.

I cost me just RM110 per month and I need not worry about quality of the filtered water anymore. Coway's service team will come for service every 2 months....sedar-sedar saja diorang call to set appointment. thumbup.gif

Ain't it too expensive to rent a water dispenser for a drinking water? RM110/mth, you must be very kaya.

I'm not kaya to buy RM4K-5K water filter that still need $$$$ to replace its filters...that's why I go for rental.....for just RM110 per month (auto charge to my credit card), I need not worry a thing.....in fact I guess Coway must be so worried that I might shift house and ran away with their asset brows.gif

I have done a bit of survey myself before decided on Coway hmm.gif Like I said in previous post, water filter won't work as it should, if the filters not serviced where you would end up drinking contaminated water like me before. There's a good video at www.mycoway.net that explains how their filtering system works.

I realized that Coway has a dedicated team to do just servicing every 2 months where they will clean the device and change the filters as per schedule. Not only that, after each time the Coway personnel came to my house, I sure get phone call the next day to verify whether the personnel did the right thing, wearing uniform, look presentable etc. Last sekali dia akan tanya our own rating on the service received.

It is not the bacteria that is filter out. (For my water filter purpose)

I just want to filter out the rust, soil and the foreign particle that from the rust pipe and etc. You can see those thing from your normal filter.

The water filter is more bacteria accumulate than without filter. So I still boil the water even filter out the water. By the way I just use normal cheap water filter only.

I don't trust those crazy expensive filter which said can drink straight away after filter. If the filter is new, I can understand. But if been using for a while, I don't no how many million bacteria accumulate in there.

Hi Ozak,

I like what you said on "...if the filter is new, I can understand. But if been using for a while, I don't no how many million bacteria accumulate in there."

I was having the same issue until I discovered Coway Water Purifier more than a year ago then the problem get resolved. Now, I need not worry a thing since the Coway's charming cleaning lady comes to do the servicing without fail every other month. The filters get changed strictly according to their schedule and on one occasion, a faulty sensor being replaced FOC since the entire machine is under full warranty (parts & labour) for 5 years.

To me, a water filter needs constant maintenance....unlike a TV (for example) where I can still watch without any degrading quality after five years although I've not done any servicing. But when it comes to water filter, the moment there is a lapse in changing of the filter as required, the water quality will not be the same anymore.

Cheers.
