i see
the local store told me hitachi has no service center in KK
but when i called hitachi customer service they told me got service center here and they gave me the phone number as well (havent try to call them though) hmm.gif
so your water outlet hole is right below your WM?
the water outlet hole in my drying yard is about 6-7 feet away from the WM place (weird+fail placement by the developer doh.gif )
i'm thinking either use PVC pipe connect the WM outlet pipe to let the water run to the hole (longer distance) or drill a hole and let the water go through the toilet sink outlet/outlet hole (shorter distance as the WM will be placed right outside the toilet)
*
my one same place with the water host, on the floor one drainage hole, the developer think for us de rclxms.gif

i guess i have to consult the installer/plumber and see how to do it
impossible to place it on the water outlet hole as it is right behind the door and no water tap was placed there doh.gif
hacking the floor is not an option as the management dont allowed it (apartment)
*
give you one suggestion buy a big water bucket and flush your water from WM there, reusable water to flash toilet bowl tongue.gif

The website they sell electrolux washing machines are cheap.

Ewf-14012 is cheap for the price they sell at rm2980.

But I dun stay in kalang alley.

But I managed to bargain with the authorized dealer shop to sell at rm3k to me tongue.gif with original extra one year of warranty also. Overall it is still good bargain.
*
since you use EWF14012 is it very quiet? since they advertise for Luxury Quiet feature. The water pump quiet too? how is the vapour action useful? hmm.gif

Just bought samsung washer dryer WD806U4S at Best Denki KLCC.
Bought the warranty extension as well. What do u guys think? Can I wash and dry my queen size comforter on it? Hopefully this one can last 10 years..
*
rclxms.gif

let us know what you think about this machine after you use for few cycle. tongue.gif

8kg for comforter? It's very hard, 10kg or more will be better, don't forget dry capacity only 5kg.

Noted.. That's why i bought the extension on warranty.. My panasonic TL just died after 3 and a half year so i thought any brand is vulnerable without warranty.. Wish me luck..

Anyone bought the same model and want to share experience?
*
actually all the electronic thing sometime base on luck too.

of course how you abuse it also is another factor. tongue.gif

btw your Panasonic cannot repair?

but this time, i opt for LG...

things have changed...

the japs WM market are so small globally...

just couldnt spend the same amount of $$$ on mainly plastic parts of jap TL washers...
*
Panasonic WM market are not small thou, if you Google or YouTube you can find ads and review everywhere even in Europe and Australia.

Don't buy BOSCH.  vmad.gif  I repeat, DON'T. Today, serviceman came to my house and quoted RM1050 for PCB (printed circuit board), RM408 for the absorbers (otherwise, shaking is bad) and RM100 labor. I paid RM100 for the visit and decided to get a new machine. The choice is tough... I am sold on Front Loaders but very wary of high repair cost. cry.gif  Oh yes, BTW, my Bosch is only 3 years old and this is the SECOND PCB kaput. 1st one died 1.5 years old. vmad.gif

I bought BOSCH and paid a premium (RM3K plus) because they say they have the highest quality washing machine.

They should never have made such a claim. It is not true. 3 words: DON'T - BUY - BOSCH. Period.
*
wow 1.5 years kaput? where you put your WM? high humid area?

RM1500 can buy a new one de I will buy a new one too instead of repair.

LG have new model TL WM look interesting.

*
Honestly don't buy anything before renovation only buy it after or just before you wanna move in, after few months sometime new model will launch or you find a better model.

I once make the mistake I cancel one appliance and change the model of another appliance. (After a series of conversation with the shop) tongue.gif

So fast you buy, but you can ask them to deliver once the house jobs completed. Got a new WM to use.
New model out or not that's not a problem. A WM's job is spin, pour water and spin. Unless this month you buy, next month comes out a WM that the internals can jump.
Quiet or not is not justify when it is new as the damper, motor are still good.
Just put it to full load all the time and see will it still be quiet after 4-5 years.
*
I disagree with your statement that the WM not only spin, pour water and spin, if it's the case you no need to choose WM at all just pick whatever WM that offer in appliances shop because all WM sure can spin, pour water and spin and you can close this tread as well.

Nowadays WM can do much more than that, for example Electrolux top of the line WM EWF14012 have load sensor to tell you how many kg of laundry you put in the WM and automatically set the optimum water and wash time, Vapour Action reduce the allergens, Time Manager to alter the wash time at your will etc some WM have Foam detection sensor to avoid the foam overflow and wet your floor, 3D vibration sensor to minimise the vibration of WM. Its much more function than the old National FL WM my mom used to have where everything have to set manually. If you prefer to set it manually of course that is your choice but different people have different needs.

Even you are not so keen on new WM and new tech but the new model launch mean the old model you had ordered will get cheaper because the shop try to push out all the old model with sales etc.

just my 2 cents rolleyes.gif

I'm in a midst of renovating my house before moving in, can't decide yet to take front load to be built in with the kitchen cabinet or top load to put outside, wife inclined to front load, haven't used one before, any comments? It's only three of us in the house (Me, wife, 3 years old son), which size would fit for now and future?  rclxms.gif
*
Size depend on how often you wash and what is the largest item you gonna wash (example comforter),

7 to 8 kg for 3 person is more than enough unless you change a lot of cloth everyday tongue.gif

If you want to wash queen or king size comforter then at least 10kg or more

normally front load use less water, more gentle to cloth and heater function (make detergent to work harder)

top load wash time shorter, can throw in extra cloth any-time, cheaper and few model also have heater function.

*sorry the other way round edited.

Ya, top load use more water, front load use less water.
But top load's water won't cost bomb to ur water bill one la.. unless u wash it everyday few times for whole month.
*
Yea I know I typed it wrongly anyway edited.

btw I know it won't cost a bomb as I used to have 3 Top Loader, Panasonic, Toshiba and Hitachi and 2 Front Loader National and Hitachi WM tongue.gif

TL 1 at my family 2nd house, 1 my mom currently using and another 1 when I was studying.

FL National(now called Panasonic) my mom previous old long lasting WM and my own house Hitachi laugh.gif

btw I did calculate how it cost at my previous post can refer to here TL vs FL running cost (post 1372)

i love convenience and would pay for it

example

i visit 10 shops (minimum) and spend RM5 on petrol to and fro from each shop. That's RM50 doing research.

then the time-value

I spend 15 minutes haggling, and average 30 minutes travelling to and 30 minutes travelling back. 1.25 hours.

x10 that would be 12.5 hours.

so to save a maximum 30% on the 1600 offered or RM480, i would need to spend RM50 in fuel and 12.5 hours of research.

if i go to homedec

using the same methodology

i visit 1 shop with similar petrol = RM5. i spend 1.25 hours, and i get 15.7% discount (1899 - 1600) or RM299.
*
Yea same to me, I will pay for the convenience too as long as it's in my acceptable range. lazy to travel here and there, visit here visit there, waste my time and energy to talk to sales

Front load always use lesser water compare to top load WM.
But for the same price you are going to spend, FL's max capacity are always smaller than TL's max capacity.
Seen the most reputable FL WM, it do uses lesser water compare to cheaper models and even perform better than TL by 0.5l. But you need to pay extra rm1200 just to safe 0.5l of water each wash doh.gif
Sellers always comparing the WM based on max load and will take a 10KG TL compare to 8KG FL.
Also, FL uses more power compare to FL. If each day a FL uses 1-2 unit more, 1 month already 60 units. You can do the maths on this.
Is it whistling.gif
Before I commit a purchase, minimum shops I visit will be 10-20. Usually Homdec will put MSRP and then give some discount for it which still 20-30% more expensive than those no name shops hmm.gif

Actually bill saving portion as a reason of my choice to choose front load is min, but I am more concern abt the usefulness of front load washing machine compare to top load.

My main concern is Gentle On Cloth and Ease of Use the rest are secondary. whistling.gif

actually.... gentle is not that effective in cleaning dirt

esp if u have school going children, n their baju always dirty compare to office ppl....

if u remember the old days, ppl wash kain/ baju they twist n beat etc..

tht might be the reason that FL needs longer time to wash n also use warm water... to get those dirt out more effectively....

both types of washers are useful, both can do something the other can't do... haha....

TL have soak function, for those who wants to soak before wash...

i forgot which brand of washer has this 'continue' function where if the power supply is off, then later turns on again, the washer will con't from where it stop...
*
Actually as you mention beating part is perform by the FL as the cloth being bring up by the lifter and drop back to the water and drum to simulate the beating action.

Warm water also make you detergent work harder because the detergent enzyme work better in warm water.

Why TL is bad is because of agitator (or pulsator), agitator is hard on the cloth when it spin and there is high chance the cloth stuck in between the agitator and the drum again damage the cloth. (that why Panasonic TL washer have this thing call gentle care net to cover the agitator when you want to wash delicate item.)

2nd the twist, because of the nature of the TL WM when it spin it's unavoidable the cloth get tangle together, when they tangle together they twist, twist is no good for cloth too (at least it make my undies from L to XXL because it twist too hard), that's why when you go shop for TL washing machine now you always can see they advertise less tangle. whistling.gif

P/S one of the brand that have continue after power failure is Hitachi (but I don't think it's useful in Malaysia maybe India yes tongue.gif )

bring up by the lifter and drop back to water,,,,,,

this is the marketing gimmick used by LG to confuse consumers...

yes, it can happen... when ur wash load is like what? only a few clothes, then it can happen, drop down..

then how high is the drop ah?  the drum is only less than 2 feet? bout 2 feet?

yes very very gentle drop down 'beating'... i agree, tht's y FL is always gentle it is true...

in this vid, which i have posted earlier,

it is like more of a gentle tumbling....

clothes are at best rubbing against each other gently... slow massaging  biggrin.gif

those old TL washer.. with the batang in the centre and non rotating drum, yes it will twist very hard...

clothes get tangled bcos only the pulsator is rotating, and the drum is static.

i have 2 of those washers... compared to the latest TL tht i'm using now....

the difference is huge..

the whole of msia is not like the mid/ upper/high c modern housing area tht u r staying ...

some areas will have power trips once in a while.... cos of nearby factory, or backyard industry overloading etc...

not only hitachi, but a lot of other brands have this auto resume function.. depends on which model...

*
Never experienced that even though last time my house used to near by the factory. (Penang Bayan Lepas area)

That's why I mention one of the brand that I know, I never said the only brand.

LG and Panasonic new top load look interesting drool.gif
