any recommendation for ~10kg top loader washing machine?
dont want fancy, just quality and clean laundry.

most importantly, electrical cost less.

Panasonic,Hitachi or sharp...I'm using sharp holeless so far good...if electricity is main concern look for inverter type

Chiggah, wow, do share the old Panasonic model. What and how did you and your household manage to give it such tender loving care to see through 3 decades. πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌ Share about detergent and softener usage and type, any service or repair over it's lifespan and what did it in finally.

A front load with drum clean, quick wash and inverter would be good. Toshiba had now entered the foray with FL from 7.5-10.5kg and a true 8/8kg washer dryer. Daewoo is value for money. LG quite reliable. Drum clean seems to be now standard in Bosch as of 2016-2017 models.

I would avoid Panasonic.

Hi all,
I would like to ask the opinion in the choice of washing machine.
Currently my parents just bought a new washing machine yesterday, yeah, I was shocking also because they just bought the new one without asking me first... laugh.gif

Before this, we're using the Panasonic 7KG washing machine, but unfortunately that washing machine only lasted for about 5 years.... And as a replacement, they bought a new washing machine, same brand, which is Panasonic, but more 'merrier' than before.... It has inverter function, 14KG (TOO Overkill I think for only four person at house right now).... It's top-loading inverter series from Panasonic, NA-FS14X2.. The price that they paid for this washing machine is RM1600!Β  sweat.gif

I would like to know whether anyone here has experienced using that type of washing machine? Is that washing machine is okay? Does it motor is direct-drive? Sorry for too much questions.... I'm worried if the same incident happened again to this new washing machine.... My parents just bought it without doing broad research before buy it....Β  hmm.gif

NA-FS14X2 OFFICIAL SPECIFICATION

Ya.. it's almost 7 years passed since my parents bought that machine in 2012.

I'm glad to say that it still perform just like from the day one we owned it. biggrin.gif

Only minus some 'cosmetic damaged' such as there are some rust and mold build up at the steel body inside the machine.

Other than that, it still perform well without any trip to panasonic service center yet.

With water rationing coming up, it's an occasional reminder how much this resource is taken for granted. I saw these which I overlooked and hope it's of benefit to those reading this thread.

cost of water in malaysia is still considered one of the lowest expenses in a household. Bar water rationing time which can easily be mitigated by buying a few big tong to store temporary water, i dont see how investing in such rain water system can ever give a positive return on investment. And such a small tank (i think the video mention 10 flush of toilet) is hardly enough to last u long in case of prolong water rationing.

Cost of water although low does not reflect economic reality to take conservation into factor by home owners. Its known as the curse of plenty....extended droughts well some areas sensitive to this may see the benefit of this. Tank size is 300l. If a toilet flushes is 6l on average that's 50 flushes. But of course it's also for gardening and car wash. But it has a top up mechanism from the regular tangki if there are 10 flushes left. They have thought it through very well...No electrical pump and scalable if space and wallet allows. As an aside: This would be an ideal top up source for pond owners actually if used exclusively without top up from tangki.

Hi guys

My mom washing machine finally break down after serving us for more than 17yrs

Front loaded, brand : ELBA

I think repair once long time ago, also the door handle spoilt once, but it does serve us well until today. The water stop discharging out, i think the pump spoilt d, and my mom finally decide to get a new one.

New WM target is top-loaded (easier for my old parent). Load 7kg to 10kg. Budget max.1500

Just now had a glance through on lazada,

1) samsung
https://s.lazada.com.my/s.tFzF

- look nice, button on top, less risk of control panel damage by water. saw the introduction, looks like got quite some function there and even prewash

2) Sharp
https://s.lazada.com.my/s.tCYM

- holess tube ? Not sure the pro and cons, sound very high tech. Also got quite a lot of function too.

3) Hitachi
https://s.lazada.com.my/s.tGjW

- Made in Thailand and japan quality. I think this is one of the cheapest Inverter WM i can find ? But more expensive than samsung and sharp by 200. Not sure if worth it ?
Or i should go for nom inverter model ? Quite like the function of self cleaning.

Guys can give some advice ?

Sivanathan04 and Career26 uses the Sharp holesless washers. You can read it way back. Hitachi TL inverters are pricier because of the inverter motor and glass top but it has drum clean. So does the Sharp and if the other appliance makers work their salt wants to stay relevant, most should by now be equipping their washers with drum clean.

Granted the intention but I doubt if they'll like how TL treats clothes compared to what they are used to in the FL.

Elba, Daewoo and Toshiba (yes) front load are value for money and all except Elba have drum clean. The front loads can be raised by building a raised plinth that fits the washing machine to stand on. Raise it by at least 50-60cm. Some are creative that they allow storage within the raised height. The surface on which the machine rest on should be non slippery when who to prevent it from walking when it spins esp at higher than 1000rpm.

My in-law raises theirs to prevent occasional flooding ruining their machine but as an incidental effect they didn't have to bent down. I do it in my bathroom to allow washing the toilet floors but it it will be hard for the man who repairs it to bring it down alone without a extra pair of hand and a little help like a carrier harness.

My mom is aware the top load new WM to avoid her bend down, which she alright with it.

Also front load is normally more expensive than top load right ?

So top load is still preference target right now.

The brands I mentioned are not esp the Daewoo. 8kg btw RM997-1100 and it has drum clean.

The gentler of the top loads would be the Sharp holeless.
