QUOTE(kimsim @ Dec 19 2014, 05:15 PM) Water usage wouldnt different, from RPM of speed would effect on when unloaded cloths and feel some wet remaining, like top load maximum at 800 Rpm only. For landed house without any issue when hand on cloths rack and take longer time for drying only. If open air much better without any badly smell. That is in market got higher faster speed for 1400-1600 PRM so far, wanna quicky dry and pay as higher only. Front loader or top loader cleaner washing? Dunno why my gf's mother needs to wash by hand before put into washing machine. Waste of time liao

QUOTE(kimsim @ Dec 22 2014, 06:04 AM) Nowaday still got ppls choosing bigger capacity and get the without inverter motor? Also most VRT or TAV just apply for FL only. Regarding on samsung filtering design was impressive, thier used very fine nett for filter, drum got roller at the bottom also for help the cloths turning more eaier to spins. Maybe you can go and look for samsung 14kg top load too. http://www.samsung.com/my/consumer/home-ap.../WA14F7S9MTA/FQis it true 7kg FL equivalent 14kg TL? dun play play put your 14kg dirty clothes to FL ma

QUOTE(kimsim @ Dec 22 2014, 11:53 AM) Not really lah.. TL more cheaper then can save a bit more. FL more expansive and design too. 7kg FL compartment quite smaller leh, daily use 3 to 4 persons still ok. But comforter can't be wash already, due to 7kg compartment and door opening much smaller than TL. The ideal you own smaller capacity and bring out comforter for kedah dobi then solved. Everything is can't to compare as what you like. so TL cleaner than FL?

QUOTE(halcyon27 @ Dec 22 2014, 04:21 PM) Higher spin RPM translates to lower residual moisture content (rmc). See here and here. For 800RPM to 1200RPM, the ballpark is between 70-75% to 55-60% residual moisture content. After which between 1400 to 1600 is about 50% to 44% but that depends on the drum size also. The larger the diameter of the drum, the less rotational speed needed to achieve the same residual moisture content than a smaller one. Larger drum size for a front load is anything larger than the standard equipment width of 600x600x850mm (WxDxH). Time to wash completion is a function of load, temperature, program (determined by fabric type which influences spin speed - eg wool cannot take any higher than 800rpm, some even limit it to 400rpm) and any incidental factors imposed - eg intensive care (more water, pre-rinse, etc). From my own experience, I used to own a 6kg 1000rpm washer. Dries quite ok like less than 1-2 hours on very sunny dry day under a zinc roof and protected from rain. On rainy days, 4-8 hours. Once my washer had a problem and we used a 800rpm washer elsewhere. It took longer to dry. From here, we decided that that in future, any FL washers we purchase will be no slower than 1000rpm. My replacement washer spins at 1600rpm. So what makes dry fast not TL or FL but rpm spin?

QUOTE(kimsim @ Dec 25 2014, 03:33 PM) TL carry too heavy load already still need it spin faster, i think the motor really over load can be spoil more faster than FL at all. The worst case from the design on vertical tube motor work harder than horizontal FL drum from 30-50% water only. If both washing same amount of cloths from TL used more water to wash top layer of cloths, unlike FL just used 40% water can be turning much easier. Dun lie. Tl is more durable than fl.stats showed that. My question tl also can fast dry? Wanna buy tl coz cheaper lots than fl

QUOTE(halcyon27 @ Dec 25 2014, 11:32 PM) I may be wrong but I hazard a guess that commercial grade fl would have used long endurance components? They probably cost more for the same capacity. They are heavily utilized in a day vs home grade fl. Laundry use FL because fast dry. Not because more durable. Just see coin laundry in singapore maytag top loader liao

QUOTE(starex80 @ Dec 25 2014, 09:42 PM) I dont think he lies. If FL not reliable than it wont sell expensive than TL with same load. FL pro is more than TL, bro. Just get an article of year 2014 http://blog.bostonappliance.net/front-load...op-load-washersPerth washing machine repairman Peter Rogers, who has been in the business for more than 25 years, said the only benefit of front loaders is that they fit under a bench. "We commonly attend front loaders only 18 months old that are write-offs – the cost of the repair being more than a new machine," Mr Rogers said. "This virtually never happens with top loaders." "The average lifespan (of a front loader) is just five years, regardless of make. The average lifespan of most top loader http://m.smh.com.au/entertainment/about-to...0213-32mxg.html

QUOTE(ozak @ Dec 26 2014, 09:04 AM) Commercial FL WM cost around 45-50K. A std capacity as what you see in laundry shop. With such high price in commercial machine, definitely is durable. I think the boss is idiot if he get a machine that does not last long even for a return cost. The main reason why laundry shop using FL is the water and power save. Anything that high operating cost is bad for business. I guess you know that. What power save? Using fl need more than 1 hr to wash

QUOTE(halcyon27 @ Dec 30 2014, 11:05 AM) your wm front load or top load? combo definitely cheaper than both separate but you need to be aware of its limitations. otoh, also got its own given advantage. See pg 79 of this thread as it's discuss there from thread post 1561 onwards. Washer dryer thread also got other suggestions like kochin's even cheaper dryer alternative which can be considered in a tight confined space and budget. Why should have a dryer if FL washing machine already 90% dry and TL WM already 80% dry
