Anyone here using LG FV1450S4V? How is LG after sales service at KL area? Currently using Panasonic NA140VX3 for 8 years, just replaced the absorbers and the motor pulley belting recently (2nd replacement for the belting. 1st failure the belt broke into two; this time due to absorber failure; the belt got damaged by rubbing against the cabinet or something) recently but drain sump pump is failing again after 4 years from previous replacement. Panasonic service has been good but worried to spend a few more hundreds only to watch the other parts break down again soon.

Are there any shop which accept trade in?

See this. Their parts are sourced worldwide. Very rare insight.

Didn't know that the T07 same load washer and dryer comes in 10kg. Only know of the 8kg washer/dryer

Toshiba consumer brand is now owned by Midea, some patents might belong to Toshiba; hence only be available on Toshiba brand and not on Midea washing machines.

Guys, what are the reliable brands for washing machine?

Mine just broke down today, lol. Might need to get 1 within this few days.
*
Seems like LG is getting good reviews on this forum, the top loading direct drive is very quiet.

Intend to replace my dying 8 year old Panasonic FL with a LG FL as well.

Same, mine is currently toshiba too, breakdown after 12 years of using.

Just wondering is there any better brands, haha.
*
Not sure but personally from experience, Toshiba TL is very rough on clothes same as Midea TL.

LG TL is ok; other brands I have never really used before.

U are using LG now? How old is it, and so far any problems?
*
The LG I'm using now belongs to my landlady, about 3 to 4 years old. No issues so far according to her.

My own house at KL, I'm using Panasonic FL. Planning to change to a LG FL once it breaks down.

Panasonic service is good, just that there is not much technological advancement and doesn't seem like they addressed some of the design flaw which I found in my current machine (shorts with strings often get caught onto the tiny gap of the drum paddle lifter, and becomes an entangled mess)

Hi, i just bought a toshiba front load 7.5kg. This is my first front load machine. There is a loud humming sound especially during rinsing and spinning. I was told by the technician it is due to the machine is sucking the water out. Higher end model may be using more silent motor. Is that true?
*
Yeap true, I replaced my parents Panasonic FL with LG FL FV1450S4V recently; the drain pump sound is much more higher pitched than the previous Panasonic; however, washing time & stain removal is much better on the LG.

Some machine drain sound are noisier. How quick was Toshiba service team to respond to your call?

How much did you bought the LG? I was thinking to get it too but worried the panel board will be easily spoilt with too much functions like WiFi and etc. How was your feedback on the usage so far and did you buy extended warranty?
*
I got it from ESH at RM 2680 + the matching pedestal washer for additional RM 900 (PWP offer)

Yea added on Extended Warranty, so far washing performance is better than Panasonic even though this model lacks the turbo wash technology something equivalent to Panasonic Hydroactive spray wash system (which is a bummer) and it leaves slightly more water in the gasket that I am worried will cause mold growth very soon (somehow the Panasonic design was better in this aspect, as little or no water was left in the gasket pocket).

I didn't get Panasonic machine again due to certain issues on the lift up paddle which keep getting clothes with strings attached

The drain pump and water intake is slightly more noisy than our old Panasonic NA-140VX3 machine

The pedestal washer is really useful as my family tend to use it more than the main washer itself, can be used to wash small loads without waiting for load to pile up.

So far many who used LG Washers have nothing but praises for the machine except

Just changed from 6.5KG TL Panasonic (10yrs old) to LG FL washer dryer FV1450H2B.
This is my first time using FL and dryer. So far, the machine works fine, silent but spinning a bit noisy for my small apartment. can hear the spinning until living room. so not suitable to operate at middle of the night.

just wondering using FL will require special detergent like low sud liquid?
currently i'm using nappikleen for my babay clothes and daia smart detergent for regular wash. is it good enough for the FL machine?
*
I think your model is similar to mine, AI DD but with Dryer functions.

We have been using MaxKleen9 Powder for all our FL machines, and yes the LG is exceptionally loud compared to our Panasonic machine. The noise is mainly from the drain pump, which is supposed to be inverter drive pump based on their promotional videos; however it is noisy.

The Panasonic probably had better sound dampening materials inside as well, this LG machine has a "hollow" sound.

So far it balances a full load better than the Panasonic and cleans way better as well, the noise part have to just live with it.

I've tried washing half load, weighed 5.5kg in dry state. it took 6.5hrs with mixed fabric + dry function.
I wonder if this is normal for other brand. washing about 4hrs, and the rest is drying.
*
Which Program did you use? 4hours for just washing is ridiculously long.

If you do just wash cycle, does it take as long?

yeah, agreed with that. i used mixed fabric + drying program. other than that, let the machine decide. and suddenly showing me 6++ hrs. so i just let it run as still exploring the function.

now i know, whenever i select the programs, i can choose turbo wash to reduce amount of time to complete the cycle.
normally i just use program Turbo39, took only 39 mins to complete one cycle.

i'd still can play around with other programs by using download function, there are quite number of extra program which i can download via apps and run it with the machine. i kinda like this feature.

the machine has completed 38 cycles since i bought it. 5 of the cycle included with drying function. i did not observe any significant differences in my electric bill. sadly the apps cannot monitor the power consumption so that we can know how much power the machine consume monthly and plan for the wash.
*
Yeah same issue here with the app on energy monitoring; but mine I bought together with the side kick bottom washer. So far, we use the bottom washer more frequently than the main washer.

Our energy consumption dropped about 15% compared to when using the older Panasonic NA-140VX3.

Overall, my parents are pleased with the machine.

I think the noise only higher when you using highest rpm in setting.
Plan to buy FV1450S4V model after move in.
*
I am using FV1450S4V, the drain pump is much louder than our older Panasonic FL machine (NA-140VX3 10kg machine) and do take note that this model doesn't have Turbo Wash function even though it is one of the top range non dryer model from LG (which means you can't shorten the wash time for a full load, which is was the main selling point for me towards LG)

The spin noise is mostly contributed by the drain pump and not the direct drive motor which is relatively quiet.

And if you fully pack the machine, it will wash for nearly 4hrs (good thing, because my parents tend to overload our washing machine, so with this they learn to reduce the load)

Washing performance is much more cleaner and gentle compared to our old Panasonic. Typical wash time is shorter compared to the Panasonic as well, roughly 1hr 10 mins to 1hr 30 mins for normal size loads (6-8kg) using the AI DD programme.

Thanks for your review.

Noise is not my main concern so I guess it should be ok and yeah it would be best if the model includes turbo wash function, but I'm choosing LG mainly because it has the DD tech which others brands don't have it.

Most probably will switch to model FV1409S4W because feels like 1.5kg & color diff doesn't worth RM500 price diff sweat.gif
*
Oh yeah, on white the programme cycle wording could be more visible.

The extra 500 is more on the absorber + bearing mechanism to cater for the additional 1.5kg, the body size etc are all the same between this two model; if I'm not mistaken.

Yeah one of the consideration was also on the direct drive technology and the 6 motion wash cycle. I bought mine on PWP offer with the matching bottom washer which we now mostly use for small daily load.

Bought 8kg LG WD-MD8000WM for RM1499, used 3 times now. It's shaking quite a lot while in operation, not sure if it's just me. Otherwise, no issue. One of the cheapest branded FL.
*
Check if the transit bolts are removed (can cause major damage to the machine if operated with the transit bolts in place) and ensure that the foot is level. If using on glazed tiles, need to put the rough pad provided by LG to ensure the rubber feet properly grips the floor.

Oo ok thanks for the info. I guess I will choose AI DD technology over turbo wash since I read turbo wash will reduce washing time but use more electricity. Plus, FV1409S4W is a bit cheaper than TWC1409S3W.
*
Yup always better to choose the newer model, plus the FV1409S4W uses Stainless steel paddles inside instead of plastic like all other manufacturers.

I used to have clothing stuck (especially the strings on sports wear) on the poorly design plastic paddle in our old Panasonic FL.

Ok thanks for mentioning that. This is the kind of thing that will not be noticed unless we experience it ourselves. I'm buying FL for the first time 👍🏻.
*
Once you try FL, you either love it or hate it. In my parents case; they prefer the FL over TL due to clothes wear and tear issue.

And modern FL have shorter (but still longer) wash time compared to a TL.

We (combined myself and my parents) have cycled through 4 FL washing machines (Elba, Europa, Panasonic and LG); Panasonic & Elba after sales service is much better compared to LG and Europa. In terms of machine quality; Panasonic has the best built quality and to a certain extent over engineered; but poor suspension.

Europa is rebranded Beko, didn't really have an impressive wash quality but then again these are pre year 2000 machines with mechanical controls.

contacted them via whatsapp.

it looks like their technician available is also limited. Google review shows their after sale service sucks.

anyhow, anyone face the front door loading washing cracked like mine before?

Thanks
*
which part cracked? the glass door?

Beko is not exactly a top tier model in its home country. Hence, for FL its either Electrolux or Bosch for European make and LG or Panasonic for FL.

Panasonic FL after sales support team is much better than LG based on the recent experience dealing with LG after sales.

The bracket at the side. Yes kinda regret for a 3 years old machine.

The replacement of the whole door is close to rm400.
*
Yeah that is the price for the door, even the rubber gasket price is roughly around RM 200 to RM 250.

Somehow, Panasonic covers quite many of the parts on the FL under warranty including the Rubber gasket which got damaged after 4 years of daily use (on extended warranty). Not sure if they have revised their warranty terms though. As LG & Electrolux do not cover the rubber gasket under warranty.

Anyone has experience with these mini washing machine? Plan to use to wash my children's clothes daily. So the load won't be a lot.

https://www.lg.com/my/washers/lg-TG2402NTW
*
Yes we have one, but it works only with a matching LG FL / LG Dryer to be on top of it.

Its useful to do small loads and have to use high efficiency soap. The dosing amount suggested by LG is quite little; hence, I improvise by using extra soap and adding extra rinses to remove the excess soap.

Works well with lightly soiled items; but not the fastest washer.

Quick Load on the main FL takes about 30mins; whereas 49mins with this little guy and if you use additional rinses the time adds up.

I bought it during Purchase with Purchase offer with my LG Machine and got it at 50% off..otherwise, I wouldn't recommend this.

Advantages:
1. Can be used when have small loads.
2. Can be used when you want separate out the clothes from front load washer, like socks and underwear.
3. Lift up the front load washer so no need to squat down when putting in or collecting the clothes.

Disadvantages:
1. Not all front load washers compatible with it.
2. Need to have 2~3 strong men at home if installation service not provided.
3. Front load will have a bit noise when spinning at fast speed, not sure others but at least mine got this issue, not that important though.
How much you get yours after 50% discount?
*
RM 800 or RM 900

And yeah some vibration does get transferred from the bottom washer to the main FL washer during top speed spin.

Partly I find the LG washing machine doesn't have much noise insulation compared to our older Panasonic FL; thus small vibration sound can be amplified during high speed spin.
