Dear All,

I was in one of the electrical shop in PJ and i saw this massively ginormous fridge by Hitachi. Model is R-V750PM or R-V750PMX. 700L gross, nett is 600L. I was actually survey-ing fridge for my new house.

Lets just say I will need that size, I will need to know if anyone is using this model, any problem so far? Where did you buy it and how much.

Please advice. Thank you in advance.

Hmmm..but considering that the freezer is not open as often as the non-freezer section, the lost is to the minimum..For me, I open the non freezer part more, which would mean i lose cold air from there more. Considering that the cold air is where the fan is which is wherever the freezer is, and that cold air is heavier and  travels downward, i would 'benefit' a little more if the non freezer part is at the bottom; As it cools much easily then if the cold air were to move upwards. Again, this is just a thought, but yes i agree that drawers loses less cold air then front doors since it acts as a barier and cold air couldnt travel any lower if the freezer were to be at the bottom. Unlike side by side which has dual fan, the top-bottom only has one...Haih...buy fridge also so mah fan...and I thought renovation was difficult..buy fridge also so hard...

I think if ppl give me fridge as a house warming gift..i wouldn't mind any type....LOL

I'm going back and forth between the new Panasonic inverter fridge (bottom freezer), hitachi 4 door top-bottom and the samsung 2 door..grandma say freezer at the bottom kids can pull and toddlers these days if not watch would climb inside and sometimesafter we take a handfull of stuff just turn and kick the door close...LOL..grandma trying to scare me..

Was thinking about the top-bottom hitachi 4 door because the door clearance needed is smaller compared to the full size door...then I dont have to worry about the space from table top to the island..

Panasonic is coming up with a top freezer soon by this year definitely. Wait if you are not in hurry.

Ops...less experience too.....all the while my father pay for it.later when i moving to new house, i will paid it myself :-(

How to choose a fridge with lesser electric comsumption? like aircond look at EER etc.......tq
*
Yup, look at the EER and low defrost amp. When you pay yourself, you will know. Hehe. Fridge might be 30-40% of your total electric bill. Choosing a fridge is more important than choosing a TV.

Walauyeah........30-40% of my bill  cry.gif  ..........
after planning to move out and be independent, i sudden feel that my father very great  wub.gif he contribute a lot to us.....

ok, i will look at EER and low defrost amp..any acceptance limit? for example EER must more than 10 just like aircond? how about low defrost amp???
*
I do not have the 'acceptance level'. As for AC, I also do not have them. I will only go for the one with highest EER at a reasonable price.

It is not easy for you to check the spec in this way. Specially when scout around the shop. Those saleman even don't no all this eer thingy.

Normally the fridge have a spec sticker stick at the inner fridge side where normally the temp knob locate. You will see the information like voltage, ampere, watt, fridge size etc. The important is look at the ampere and watt. Or just the watt will do. Lowest the watt = more energy saving.

Use 1 of your favour fridge spec as a guide. Example your panasonic 400L fridge use 200w energy. Than check around any fridge you like that can lowest than the 200w with same size. That it easy for you to look for the energy saving fridge.

Another is look for the 5star rating sticker infront the fridge.
*
Right, That is the way I use when I survey for the fridge. I was hoping that they have specs in their catalogues but apparently, they have nothing more than the features, nice looking model holding a drinking water glass, and lots of vege, apples and cake in the fridge. Give us some real data please.

As for the 5 start rating in Malaysia, it is tested rating. However, this is a relative comparison rating. If I am not mistaken, on the label, it writes, 'this unit is using xxx kW lesser than normal products'. What is the benchmark of 'other products'. So this is relatively a grey area. But I guess, by looking at that label, you know at least your selected product is at which level. Higher saving is always better.

E&E in Puchong. In the area beside Tesco Puchong. The shop is beside Hong Leong Bank. They do not have display. You have to ask.

How much you got it for?
Is the motor noisy?
Ventilation 5cm enough?
I'm planning 10cm side n 20cm back.

Thanks
*
Noise wise, the compressor sound is tolerable but the hissing sound of the expender is a bit noticable. Over all, I love that fridge. Ventilation gap, 2" at both side. Back is another 2". I got it for 2890 in E&E puchong

I am very interested of getting a Panasonic fridge with inverter since it is power saving but heard that the bottom freezer might pose some problem for old people, what else is the disadvantage of bottom freezer?
*
The only thing I don't like about bottom freezer is that the containers (if you use) or the stuff you put in have to stack on each other. It will be a pain if you want to take out the nugget which is placed at the bottom.
