About Arçelik Hitachi Home Appliances

Arçelik Hitachi Home Appliances was established on July 1st, 2021 as a joint venture between Arçelik A.Ş. and Hitachi Global Life Solutions, Inc to manufacture, sell and provide after-sales services of Hitachi branded home appliances including refrigerators, washing machines, vacuum cleaners globally (outside of the Japanese market). Arçelik acquired 60% ownership in the new company while Hitachi Global Life Solutions, Inc. continues as a 40% shareholder of the company. Through this joint venture, Arçelik AŞ and Hitachi GLS, Inc. have combined their expertise in other key areas such as R&D, procurement and production systems to optimize the joint venture's global supply chain and strengthen its competitive positioning in the market.

...

Arçelik is a multinational household appliances manufacturer that operates with 12 brands (Arçelik, Beko, Grundig, Blomberg, ElektraBregenz, Arctic, Leisure, Flavel, Defy, Altus, Dawlance, Voltas Beko).

It appears that Hitachi GLS SEA activities have been transferred to a new JV entity called Arçelik Hitachi Home Appliances. It's no surprise that I'm having trouble contacting customer assistance.

Interestingly, CEO Zafer Üstüner was the former Regional Head of APAC and General Manager of Thailand at Beko, one of the brands under Arçelik.

I'll be concerned after reading this section of Wikipedia.

I don't have any suggestions. To illustrate, even though most side-doors, multi-doors, and French doors do not have a Malaysia ST rating, an inverter fridge with a bigger 700L capacity, such as Hitachi R-WB850P5M, can still save electricity. Yes, avoid Hitachi for the time being due to its existing after-sales support. Since I purchased a Hitachi, this is my problem to solve.

Thanks. Was eyeing Hitachi R-VG750PM-1 655L previously seem like need to seek alternatives with similar capacity hmm.gif

It will be tough to find a fridge brand that is equivalent to the top freezer SuperBig2 Hitachi R-VG750PM-1 at the asking price MYR 3XXX.
Thanks a lot for recommendation and yes you are right non of these model can beat Hitachi R-VG750PM-1. Sharp or Toshiba is the best I can get if i want to skip Hitachi.

For your issue, maybe you can try file a complain to kpdnkk ?

I owned a Toshiba Single-Door GR-S21 for more than ten years before upgrading to a larger model from Hitachi to match the needs of my current family. The old one is still with me, and I plan to use it as a backup when cleaning up the new one.

The GR-S21 model is now replaced by GR-S185SH which is exactly the same design.

However, Toshiba's home appliance business has been bought by Midea Group. So, I don't know how good it is now under Midea.

Similarly, Hitachi's home appliances division launched a joint venture with the Turkish firm Arcelik in 2021. Well, I can tell you that Hitachi's Malaysia branch's after-sales support following the JV has not recovered since the pandemic. It is very difficult to get a response from its support contact and email at the moment. Strangely, I've just got an email from
Arcelik Hitachi (hitachimail66 at gmail.com) promoting this thing...

For your info, Arcelik owns the Beko brand.

Seem like Arcelik Hitachi focus on promoting instead of after-sales bangwall.gif
Initially i want to purchase Hitachi R-VG750PM-1, but this after sales thing really turn me off.

I own a multidoor Hitachi fridge. Recently got a problem and got to get the service from them.

Email response is between a week. But ordering parts and information is lacking. They don't inform you when parts are ordered, the price, and the date. You got to call to find out.

May i know is your Hitachi fridge problem already resolved ?

Shopee/Lazada sellers tend to have cheaper price, but best to make sure they are using their own delivery fleet instead of general couriers

if you want to be safe just compare prices from major stores eg: Harvey Norman, Senheng/SenQ, TBM then go for the cheapest one

Most of my big electrical things are from HLK. Next is TBM.  Onking twice and only small items.

Thank all for the advice. Wen to Senheng and Harvey Norman last week, Senheng price is cheaper with extra warranty if you joined the PlusOne membership.
This week will visit HLK and TBM to check price too rclxms.gif

Hey bro, I just recently purchased a few household items for my new place and this is what I did

Since Harvey norman has this policy of having the best price in the market.. (https://www.harveynorman.com.my/customer-services/shop-with-confidence.html)

I compared a legitimate shopee product against theirs and they honoured the price.. Some salesman will say can't match shopee price as it is company's policy.. I managed to find the right guy at Sunway Pyramid to help me with the lowest price.. I got a frdge and washer/dryer from him... I wanted an oled from LG but unfortuantely they have fully sold it out so I got the TV from Shopee..

What I like about harvey norman is that they will come up to your place and install the product as well..

Thanks for sharing this , mind to pm me the guy from Sunway Pyramid Harvey Norman as well ?
