Haha yeah it was sky2006.. Another user I saw mentioned that the auto ice maker broke down after a while.. Which is a bummer for me.. But no worries bro
I've already emailed panasonic and see if their technician could help me dismantle the door of the fridge and all, I actually wouldn't mind dismantling it myself, problem is how to carry it later and afraid that there are wires connecting the LEDs for the displays at the door..
Some fridge actually allows you to dismantle the door to install on another side (open from left or from right)
But yeah best to confirm whether it can be done
Most people would say stick with Jap brands but you can consider LG as well
I came across this thread regarding the ice maker and decided to reconsider from then on, if not it would have been the perfect fridge for me as the depth is around 735mm which is perfect

What a bummer, yes I’m also concerned of the ice maker too. There’s really not much options for bottom freezer, especially with pull out drawer, so I might just reconsider top freezer again if that’s the case. Thanks again for the sharing.
I think the problematic ice maker that was mentioned in the thread that Calvin linked was the Sharp fridge
Can consider Panasonic for bottom freezer as well, next would be LG

Not to sure though as the thread was a mitsubishi fridge, but anyhow i was really leaning towards it for the size.. Thanks for sharing bro, didn't know that we needed to consider so many things before purchasing a fridge
Btw I found a demo unit of a Hitachi fridge, RM18k to RM8.6k ish, to those that are interested can head to best denki at 1utama
This is the model
My bad, its supposed to be Hitachi not Sharp. The guy that you quoted regarding the broken ice maker was mentioning a Hitachi fridge
While the Mitsubishi fridge mentioned by another guy is still working fine after few years

I think it more to delivery issues than warranty. .... dent, scratches etc where buyer can reject and request for replacement.
It happened to one of my purchase where there were scratch marks and a slight dent on the washing machine. Possible it was a displayed unit repacked.
Yes that's why I emphasis have to make sure the seller have their own delivery fleet
PH Chain Store on Shopee and Lazada is one that I know uses their own delivery fleet. Saw reviews before where seller reject units with defect on the spot and it was exchanged

Guys,
What's the energy usage like for say 500L fridge? Was considering whether or not I should change mine. My current one from more than 10 years ago using about 3kwh per day.
maybe can take a look at electrical store, find the model that you looking for and see if they have the ST star rating sticker. It will have the annual consumption figure there. Do your own maths using that

I'm trying to buy online. I can't find the figures on manufacturer website. I'm thinking to get a rough estimates to see whether it's worth getting a fridge.
Can still survey in store first before buying online mah
Anyway few days ago I went and see a 465L Panasonic bottom freezer fridge. Its rated 4 stars and the consumption according to the label is average 407 kwh per year. Top freezer model should be more efficient

a quick lookup for 2 doors fridge within my budget have a average size of apprx. 750x750x1750 so my cabinet should have at least 900mm in width and 1900 in height?
That's just a rough guide. If possible determine or shortlist which model you want first, then from there look for the manufacturers installation guide / spacing on website, different model could have different space tolerance

i was looking at panasonic fridge 1.) NR-TZ601BPSM 2.) NR-BX471CPSM 3.) NR-BW530XMMM
Well, i try to list down my criteria for fridge selection, 1.) energy efficient (I assume inverter > non?) 2.) reliable 3.) top/btm freezer is fine for me 4.) big volume 5.) budget ~3k to 5k
Please do recommend/introduce any fridge
Do you recommend to purchase in shopee? because I had ~RM13k worth of vouchers for shopee electronics can be exchanged from working company points.
Look for PH chainstore if you wanna purchase from Shopee. Good pricing and so far good feedback when it comes to delivery

thank you sir, look at the shopee PH Chain Store, seems like delivery only include KV/Selangor only btw does it means any of the Shopee Mall store ok in term of delivery as well?
official stores should be ok although pricing less competitive
no matter which store you buy from, make sure they use their own delivery fleet instead of general courrier

Its a shame we dont get much choices when it comes to multi drawer / doors fridge in Msia if your space is limited. The only choice is those imported from Japan models which are expensive...
Going through Panasonic Japan website, there's like a wide selection of multi door models, some with width of 600mm which would fit the slimmest of space available
I think it is all about demand and each brands marketing to bring in the products that they feel is most suited for the market.
Dont blame Panasonic because I think they knew quite well who their customers base were and their preferential size/design when it comes to refrigerator. You just have to look elsewhere. Mitsubishi from what I knew is a pretty popular brand in SG and thus I'm not surprised that they choosen to bring in these slim but taller fridge as space is a premium in SG.
I was looking at the Mitsubishi fridge as well. Everything seems ok but the capacity shown is gross value. The nett capacity is far lower actually. 402 gross but nett capacity only 298
The most impressive thing is it seems like doesn't require any spacing based on the installation guide. Only 5mm for each side and no spacing required for the back

Well, they can advise any spacing they want. After all, it's all about maximising efficiency. The heating element for no frost is most possibly on the side like most fridges, having less space would mean the heat would remained there longer thus might affect cooling efficiency and power consumption in the long run.
Its the only fridge in Panasonic line up to have such installation spacing. I've checked every fridge and most of them requite at least 50mm for the sides and 100mm for the rear. So I'm inclined to believe the model is designed that way, to fit in the tightest available space

Not looking for glass door, as i can imagine kids oily fingerprints on them. 😬😬. I had to think of opening width - i dont have fancy cabinets around the fridge area, just a corner with a tall cabinet on one side and wall on the other. I was thinking of angling it a bit if it doesnt fit, but its a heavy fridge....too bad i dont know of any fridge that come with wheels....wonder why... Am thinking of Sharp SJF-921VMSS. Anyone has any reviews on this?
iinm Mitsubishi fridge got wheels. Model LX68EM
QUOTE(sawhueijye @ May 11 2022, 02:15 PM)
I bought the fridge this year beginning.
Pros:
1. Spacious in each compartment, bright and come with automatic ice maker 2. Very quiet and stylish 3. There are two wheel at the bottom of fridge which allow you to move it for cleaning purpose.
Cons:
1. Some parts such as vegetable compartment has the plastic feel, giving user impression that the materials are not solid. 2. Surface of the fridge get stain easily by fingerprint.
It is difficult to view actual unit in the physical shop as they don't usually display this unit. I went to a few shop only found it.

Guys gone through few comments here but still need some enlightments.I will go for Panasonic after seeing the good reviews here. Which one is good and reliable 1)SBS vs top-bottom vs French 2)Top freezer vs Bottom freezer
SBS vs French door, I prefer French door. Just dislike the column in the middle for SBS. Also SBS compartment wont be wide enough to accommodate some wide items that normally fits typical fridge design
In the end it really boils down to personal preference
