It is something like general information. But at least there is a information for us to know. The only way to check accurate consumption is like what you do. Use a kill a watt meter. As you know each household have his own habit to use fridge. So no way the manufacturing can measure it.

Another about accurate guide is those fridge really save, have 5star rating and state annual consumption. But it still subject to some standard guideline testing. That maybe very much different from your pattern of using.

I guess your fridge at least over 10yrs. It is quite high consumption per liter. The only way you can do is change. It is an old mechanism problem. Just like my 1. Over 16yrs, 292liter. Check with kill a watt meter - 13kwh/day, 56.6kwh/mth, RM1.86/day. sweat.gif

I m looking for a new fridge now.  smile.gif

Hi Ozak:

Don't know what is the capacity you looking at, you can have a look this new BIG 2 Inverter Series from Hitachi.

Thanks. The capacity is depend on my wife. Buy usually they want big 1. Give them house size fridge also not enough.  biggrin.gif Throw all the rubbish inside.

My idea fridge is French door, compact yet big capacity, Multi compartment, save energy the most.

Hitachi is 1 of the best. Eying at the multi compartment type. sweat.gif

Welcome. smile.gif
Just to share, if electrical usage or energy is the first concern when buying the fridge, than should go for 2 door series, French door or those fridge side by side definitely will consume more electric compare to normal 2 door fridge. Nowadays 2 doors fridge already have a model which can up to 600L or 700L net capacity.

of coz there is a non inverter fridge that is really saving power, but it is hard to figure it out. The non-inverter Hitachi fridge I think is quite a saving (<< 1.0 Amp) but need to figure it out with a watt meter which there is no chance to do so. So to be safe, why not go for an Inverter fridge.

and .. sure I will recheck every plug point to see if it is leaking.

Hitachi this model only consume 0.6A.

QUOTE(petlu28 @ Feb 18 2014, 03:23 PM)
Normally how long need to service our Refrigerator?
*
Is maintenance, NOT service. I call this 5C.

Difficulty: Easy

Time Required: 30 minutes or less

What You Need: Vacuum cleaner or broom, all-purpose cleaner, level

Here's How:

1. Clean the condenser coils.
Dusty condenser coils cause a refrigerator to work harder; which translates into bigger energy bills and a shorter life expectancy for the fridge – not good. To prevent this from happening, use a vacuum or broom to remove dust build up from the coils every three months (once a month if you have pets). Depending on the model that you own, the coils will either be located behind the refrigerator or underneath the refrigerator. To access coils located underneath, remove the grill at the bottom front of the fridge. To access coils located behind, pull the unit out from the wall.
2. Clean the drain hole and drip pan.
Most refrigerators rely on a drain hole and drip pan to remove condensation, so it's important that these function properly. Remove any food particles and mineral deposits from the drain hole according to the instructions in your owner's manual. Then, scrub out the drain pan.
3. Check and clean the gaskets.
The gaskets on the refrigerator and freezer doors are designed to seal the cool air in and to keep the warm air out – vital to the efficiency of your fridge. So, it's important to make sure that seal is as strong as it should be. Look over the gaskets to see if there are an spots that are cracked or otherwise damaged. Then, shut a dollar bill in the door, and see if you can pull it out easily (the seal should create resistance). If either test turns up problems, consider replacing the gasket. Clean the gasket with an all-purpose cleaner, and wipe dry.
4. Change the water filter.
Does your refrigerator have an ice maker or a water dispenser? If so, it probably also has a water filter that needs to be changed regularly. Replace your filter every six months or as recommended by the owner's manual. Need a little incentive to shell out for a new filter? Then consider this: water pulled through a dirty filter is often dirtier than before it was filtered. Yuck!
5. Check for level.
If your refrigerator isn't level the doors may not close on their own or may not seal as tightly as they're supposed to – yet another opportunity for energy loss. Check to see if your fridge is level, by placing a carpenter's level on top of your unit. Then, if necessary, adjust the feet (by hand or with a wrench) until you achieve level.

Tips:

Schedule your refrigerator cleaning on your calendar or use an online reminder service to ensure that you keep up with your regular maintenance
Clean the gaskets with vinegar to prevent the growth of mildew
Consult your refrigerator owner's manual to see if there are any additional maintenance items recommended for the model that you own

the model is there, but it seems that when i google it, it shows 2011 stuffs regarding the fridge too.
*
By when this model manufactured I have no idea, but that is the model they still having a production right now, means this model still consider their latest model.
As I know off, Sharp Kagami series and Mitsubishi MR series didn't have new model release for the past few years.

If you looking for new model, can look for Hitachi or Toshiba, they just release new model for fridge.

Noise level is very depend on personal, if some one can record down this "normal running and inverter pick up noise" as sound clip and upload here will be great.

Firstly you need to decide you prefer freezer on top or on bottom? Or doesn't matter?
From there will be easy for you to narrow down the scope.

Dear all forum-er, for maintenance schedule, the condenser coil at the back of fridge need to clean every year? How about the water drain out from the compressor, how long need to check on the container at the back?

On top of this, do anyone of you put the fridge on the movable stand? As will be more easy when doing the maintenance/cleaning. Any shop to get this?
