what do you want from episode 7?

i mean original trilogy more on adventure and plot development.

prequel trilogy lack of both..more silliness but they create a better world than the original..

for me maybe episode 7 should be more serious and maybe the same tone with star trek..
*
I actually kinda wish they did another prequel trilogy...like filling in the spots between ep3 and 4. Like what the Force Unleashed series of games did. That way they wouldn't touch the original trilogy and just leave it as it is. Now with an Episode 7 coming after ROTJ, I worry what kind of nonsense they'll do to the original characters.

yup, noticed it on both viewings; the walkers this time look more spider-like. can't say i prefer them over the ATATs though.

Brilliant, read it all.

Also the possibility
Which would make Rey incredibly powerful with the force but the age/gap of Luke & Obi-Wan fathering a child would be a slight issue.

Didn't realize there were so many hints of Obi-Wan in Rey (fighting style/scaling/climbing the walls/her accent even etc.). And the forceback they used Ewan McGregor's voice.  ohmy.gif  Nice theories to think about.
*
Ewan McGregor's line was recorded for this movie. Specifically he says "Rey, these are your first steps", as if his force ghost is calling out to her. But I do admit it's still a stretch to imagine she's related to him instead. If you look at the final scene, Luke is starting to tear as she hands him the lightsaber. I'd say he recognizes her and is tearing more because of that then because someone finally found his saber after 30 years.

Maz does say whoever you're waiting for is not coming back or whoever left you or something like that. It's meant to imply family but it could be that she was abducted by someone close to her i.e. Luke, from her parents i.e. Han and Leia. Maybe he mindwiped everyone to forget about her and put Lars von Tekka in charge to look after her? The brother vs sister storyline will always be a stronger one than cousin vs cousin; so I still have some reason to think it might be this universe's version of Jaina.

And I dunno if anybody noticed, when

, the sun almost gets fully drained d so the environment becomes darker, almost as if they took your hope and twisted it.

1. why no exotic locales? past movies have shown the exotic locations like cloud city of Bespin, swamps of Dagobah, frozen world of Hoth, cities of Coruscant with its 100 billion population, watery depths of Gungan

but all the planets in The Force Awakens seem dull and boring. especially the last scene with Luke which seems to be shot right here on planet earth!

2. recycled story line. kylo ren is whose child? Rey is who's child?
gee, i wonder where did the producer n writer get these plot lines from? how un-innovative and un creative.

and now we have x-wings blowing up a giant weapon of mass destruction? this is literally the third time this exact same plot had featured after death stars 1 and 2.

come on Disney, give us something new n excited. not the same old boring recycled stories.

3. why no aliens? all the main characters are human! except for chewie who is from the past movies and we don't understand him anyway.
disappointed. it could have been so much more. i rate it 6/10.
*
1. Because they cut down on CGI ma, all locales are real world locales with actual scenery, not underwater bubbles. Maybe they can do something different in future, but they did go from desert to green planet to space to ice planet. But it was all so fast paced.
2. Kylo storyline is recycled from books. Impossible not to have this family thing because star wars has always been about that. I think it's much more appealing to find out Kylo is Han's son than to find out he's some random guy right. The death star one i agree with you. They should have some resistance assault on the base using ground troops or something instead and for God's sake not another planet destroying weapon.
3. Erm, there were aliens all over the place; and they followed the original trilogy in terms of characters, there weren't many important aliens in those either.

1. its missing the whole exotic out-of-this-world feel. half the movie seems to have been filmed right here on planet earth.

3. there were no aliens in important roles. unlike jabba hutt, yoda, admiral ackbar, even jarjar binks who were all given prominent roles and lengthy screen time. chewbacca does not count because he is leftover from the original films, and we dont understand what he is saying anyway.
*
1. I agree, and I think part of the issue is that it was too brisk paced. We never really spent as much time on say Jakku, as we did on Tattooine.
3. This one not so sure, Ackbar and Nien Nunb were back. In Episode 4 for example, the only one who really stood out was maybe Greedo (remember Jabba wasn't in the original ep4) and the Jawas maybe. I haven't watched it in a while so I may be missing a few. I for one am glad there was no time given to a Jar jar type creature, though the CGI for Snoke and Maz Kanata was a little cringeworthy

Not quite that. She was a character, true; but the CGI didn't seem necessary with Snoke and Maz. They said they would only do CGI if it was impossible to do with real props and I didn't quite get that with Maz and Snoke. Unless in episodes 8 and 9 they both have a spinning lightsaber fight ala Yoda.

Other than that, I think the highlight for me was really the dogfights and lightsaber fight. You really felt the weight of the lightsabers as they clashed. And Rey piloting the Falcon on Jakku; with that suspended/stalled engine maneuver was awesome.

Oh yeah, Kylo is such a refreshing villain too. Very different take on the more evil/polished Sith we have already seen.

somehow i think those salute given by stormtroopers is similiar with nazi style salute... laugh.gif  laugh.gif

It was on purpose; the whole speech in front of thousands of stormtrooper is supposed to be like Hitler's Nuremberg speeches. First Order also is modelled on the Nazis (fun fact, Nazis also had stormtroopers Link)

It would be a totally mindblown moment to me if instead of Rey, I am your father; Luke says Rey I'm not your father. Then we realize Rey is actually a totally random kiddo with some random calling to the lightsaber.

Ppl raging that Rey can beat Kylo in lightsaber combat and can fly the Falcon like ace pilot. Everyone forgetting the 9 year old kid that won a podrace and blew up a trade federation control ship ka.

Also i saw this, ppl saying that Lucas had a plan when he created the prequels:

I foresee they will run into Vader as they're trying to escape and he will slaughter half of them. Like a cameo but to show us why Vader is so feared. Doubt he'll have an extended role.

...a cameo of Vader played by Hayden Christensen and voiced by James Earl Jones?  hmm.gif

Or Vader will do an 'Episode VII-Skywalker' ending look.  laugh.gif

But yes, I do believe we will see Vader in Rogue One.

Grand Moff Tarkin could be played by the talented Ben Mendelsohn.

Why not? In the Rebels tv series he is voiced by James Earl Jones also. Dunno about Hayden la...don't think it matters who plays the body double since we don't see them anyway. Ben Mendelsohn i can never forget him as the guy who was messed up by Bane in the Dark Knight Rises
