Wait, where's the confirmation that SG iPhones unlocked for foreign sims? The article in Cnet actually mentioned only M1 and Starhub sims.

QUOTE(Shoki @ Aug 22 2008, 01:31 AM) That is basically what's on Singtel webpage. Still could mean it is unlocked to Starhub and M1 sims only. We need concrete proof on Malaysian sims. |

QUOTE(Shoki @ Aug 22 2008, 01:38 AM) @string from what I know, you need to pay minimum 3 months of subscription fee + SGD800 for early termination.Just now you mentioned earlier 800SGD as early termination fees. Can link me to the source so I can read more details on it. As in need wait how many month only can unlock and what other fees included etc etc.. |

QUOTE(Shoki @ Aug 22 2008, 01:38 AM) @string This was never mentioned on any of the Singtel online plans. there is a way to "minimise" my lost; find someone in singapore who needs the minutes/tariff more than i do (or doesn't appreciate the iphone). that way, i'm actually "subsidising" his line rental.

That's the part I dont like, "subsiding someone a free line". I have this principle that whatever I buy must be owned and only used by me only. If I had to share it with someone, that someone also have to share the burden of payment.
This "forced subsidization" is not something I'm keen of. |

it is a win-win situation i reckon.
in reality, there are many people who doesn't mind using a crappy phone. since he/she needs to maintain the contract/require the minutes anyway, how is that a disadvantage situation for any of us? |
