STEP BY STEP

Hi all the malaysia streamyx user.

Today i'm going to teach you all how to solve MSN logging and slow internet problem

The Following is step by step guide

- go to http://www.whatismyip.com

- if your IP is 60.53.xx.xx Reconnect your streamyx

- After that check your IP address again

- Make sure you try few time to get other IP adddress other than 60.53.xx.xx ( For example 60.51.xx.xx , 124.xx.xx.xx )

- After you get other ip address than 60.53.xx.xx

- YOu can have a good internet speed and you can login to MSN

P:S - 60.53.xx.xx /124.xx.xx.xx contain 80% to not allow user to sign in to MSN.

INFO

For some states/district , you can't get a purticular range of IP address. You'll have to figure out which IP range is the best for your "Taman" , Area , State !

ADD-ON by pengiranijam

Using IE, you can use proxy setting by modify proxy server on

Internet Options > Connections > LAN Settings > tick checkbox on proxy server to solve connections problem to MSN.
This settings also applied to MSN automatic without manually entering proxy into MSN.

To get proxy IP Address, Please go HERE

I would like to add this , IP range allocation will vary depending on your DSLAM and location. For some states/district , you can't get a purticular range of IP address. You'll have to figure out which IP range is the best for your "Taman" , Area , State !

I don't know whats my area IP range, but I can online everytime except if tmnuts have problem

And there is already a thread about Windows Live Messenger in here
http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/441816

If I'm not mistaken, the Remote IP actually doesn't affect our WLM connection.

For me it depends. If 60.53.*.* likes me I can use msn without a hitch. mellow.gif

But yeah 90% of the time it just fails, crash and burned my msn.

60.54.*.* and 118.*.*.* working fine.

Reporting from Perak.

BTW, switching IPs will only work if it's really a different range.

E.g. 53 -> 118 -> 53 (still gives you a fair percentage of using msn -- luck and place based.)

This IP range crap has been going on for years. TMNet is known for giving certain IP range lag so this problem is not just MSN.

Because some IP range have slow connection between 2 nodes and it will cause timeout that make the connection failed.

Sorry for late reply, Since few month ago this problem is caused y IP range problem but now it's been fix. But there are some unique IP range that are not allow MSN / WLM to be connected.

To solve this problem, User can connect to VPN to solve this problem. VPN also can be used to surf other website which is block by Malaysia or IP block.

Eg : Watch US Movie on Offical Website with VPN which the malaysia IP Adress is blocked.

calson, I would like you to add this, proxy also can help solve this problem...

NOTE
Using IE, you can use proxy setting by modify proxy server on Internet Options > Connections > LAN Settings > tick checkbox on proxy server to solve connections problem to MSN. This settings also applied to MSN automatic without manually entering proxy into MSN. To get proxy IP Address, http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=proxy+list

Try this:
1. Click Tools from Internet Explorer menu bar
2. Select Internet Options
3. Go to Connections tab
4. Click on LAN settings button
5. Uncheck “Use a proxy server for your LAN”
6. Click Start (Button), and then click Run, type regsvr32 softpub.dll.
7. If necessary, logon as a local administrator and set the computer's clock to the correct date and time. (Check on the internet if possible.)
8. If your using Netgear router or modem:
NetGear problem, but also with some other routers
a) Enter IP address 192.168.0.1 in your browser's address bar.
b) Log on with ISP user name and password.
c) Enter Admin, password
d) Navigate to advanced menu, WAN set-up

regsvr32 softpub.dll
then click OK

Maybe your firewall does not allow messenger to access the internet. This happens often if you install a new version of messenger. Make sure messenger is allowed access in your firewall rules. Or try reinstalling the old version...beta sucks!! rclxub.gif

Try this:
1. Click Tools from Internet Explorer menu bar
2. Select Internet Options
3. Go to Connections tab
4. Click on LAN settings button
5. Uncheck “Use a proxy server for your LAN”
6. Click Start (Button), and then click Run, type regsvr32 softpub.dll.
7. If necessary, logon as a local administrator and set the computer's clock to the correct date and time.  (Check on the internet if possible.)
8. If your using Netgear router or modem:
NetGear problem, but also with some other routers
a) Enter IP address 192.168.0.1 in your browser's address bar.
b) Log on with ISP user name and password.
c) Enter Admin, password
d) Navigate to advanced menu, WAN set-up
e) Change MTU size to 1400
9. Try a password of no more than 8 characters.
10. If you are using IE 7.0 check the SSL Settings. Internet options advanced (Tab) scroll down to the bottom.  Security section.  Tick 'Use ssl 2.0'.
11. One of the simplest ways of curing MSN error 80048820 is to unplug, or restart your modem.  This is particularly effective for cable modems.
12. Click Start, then Run, and enter the following:
regsvr32 softpub.dll
then click OK
and do the same for the following:
regsvr32 wintrust.dll
regsvr32 initpki.dll
regsvr32 MSXML3.dll
*
this one not working "regsvr32 initpki.dll "
