Get a 80GB MY set for RM1499-RM1599. It already comes with a DS3.
You can pick up a 500GB HDD yourself for RM320.
You can find Uncharted being sold for RM90-RM110 at garage sales or at the PS Store thread stickied on this board.

All together at most you'll spend is RM2030, you could definitely get it under RM2k.

Basically you just save yourself RM600, which can be spent on 3 new games or more. Heck you could even get up to 5 or more used games with RM600.

They're hard to import and has an insane tax on them, can't blame them too much. But yes, still a rip-off.

Wherter they are cheap or not it entirely depend on the sellers.

All MY PS3 sets has a Sony Warranty Card in the box, wherter you buy them from local retailers or from Sony Style themselves. Either way, do check for the card. If not, you can always register your warranty online.

Come to think of it, I need to check my box for the card...dunno whether got or not although I did register online already

Get from SONY style (KLCC, Times Square, The Curve (but now renovating)), don't get from SONY Centre! Read SONY Centre will charge u extra 3-4% if u pay installment. SONY Style is the real 0% interest free, plus they give u a membership card for every RM50 u spend. So after your PS3 purchase u can use those points to redeem on other stuff

Heard it from another forumer which stays in shah alam. bought the my set already, current price is RM1580+1controller. the seller's name is jason but forgot the name of the shop.the seller is friendly and offer good discount on other accessories as well.

Is it good to buy the 160GB or 80GB version. I'm tempted for the 80GB version as the pricing is reasonable. Any thoughts?

well, that is considering the fact that the price around here is attached with a 1 year warranty from Sony Malaysia. So, that would justify the price by a bit.

My stocks are all from official SONY TW.it's got a Global warranty.And i go taiwan every month.
