On the TK40, it says :
• Uses eight 1.5V AA (Alkaline, Ni-MH) batteries(4 AA batteries is available in emergency) Meaning only 4 batteries will be used for normal usage...while remaining 4 is being kept for emergency use..? A bit blur here.. |

Sorry i can't confirm anything yet as i don't have a unit to try it out as well. But from my guess, the emergency use is only for the high 277 lumens & below if you try to use it for turbo mode 630 lumens either can't be use or the battery will drain super fast. This is what i think only.
