Alright, I've replaced my stock HU with Kenwood KDC-X9006U (not exactly a good player as it 'hangs' often!) and looking to replace those dreadful OEM 5.25" door speakers. I will need to find 5.25" for both front and rear doors to maintain the interior look. Prefer without external amp due to lack of space. Any recommendation? Budget around RM 500 for speakers only or can stretch to RM 1k if components are required.

NOT A PLACE FOR U TO SELL THING! Do it properly in the garage sales sub-forum.

Back to TS, mind to tell us what car are you driving? Plays a big part. Personally i recommend 6.5" component set. But if too much of a work to change to 6.5".. 5.25" will do i guess

Car is a smart forfour.

The door speakers are rated 4 ohm and probably around 15 watts.

Are these suitable for rear doors? Need it to handle some bass. I'm more worried the tweeters couldn't handle it.

6.5 can fit nicely in place of 5.25.
Only that the cover grilles will need to be fitted outside!

Yes, I've tried fitting 6.5" speakers on the doors. No problem with fitting but it will expose the speakers to prying eyes whenever u get in or off the car. If I stick with 5.25", it can be safely hidden.

You need to do some customise installation for the door speakers & other areas to get some serious optimise sound within this particular car.

Sorry if my post looks rude, but i think we should strictly discourage such stuffs. There's has been a clear place for him to sell his item, and seeing his tradelist..i believe he know well about that. Whether starting a thread or not, i think this shouldn't be encourage. What's the use of pm then? If we tend to let these stuffs happen more often..more and more people will start doing it..and this wouldn't be a discussion forum anymore. Anyway, just my 2 cent..if most people are fine with that..i wouldn't even need to bother smile.gif

If I were you, I'd definitely pick the Diamond Audio. Because I feel, why not spend another RM200~300 and within your budget and get something good.

But then again, I'm not you, and you're not me. =/

Of course the tweeter can handle it. 2ohm, the bass is more solid, besides is SPL55 means is geared for SPL lovers.
