Look at the bombshell I got from Jupiter.  mad.gif

So apparently, what I understand from this email is that if you buy shares and hold them for more
than six months without executing any other trade thereafter, then your account would be deemed inactive.

And if you want to continue using the online trading platform, you would have to execute a matching
RM10K trade within 10 days (7 working days). Otherwise, should the deadline lapse, you would have
to pay RM300 to reactivate the trading account for a 6-month period (and every 6 months thereafter I presume?).

All the while, I thought using the online trading with Jupiter was free, even if the trading account is inactive.
Besides, it's not because I don't want to trade, it's just that the orders don't match.
I do log into the trading platform almost every single market day.

Now, this has left a sour taste in my mouth for the following reasons:

1) No information on account inactivity was found on the FAQs on Jupiter's webite.

2) No information on account inactivity was found on the signup Terms and Agreement specifically stating the 6-month inactivity clause.

3) The fact that I have to pay RM300  to "reactivate" what is supposedly "free".

4) The relatively short notification time of around what, 10 days?

5) The relatively high contract value of RM10K needed to "reactivate" and thus extend the lifespan of the trading account.

Therefore, can representatives of Jupiter comment on the rationale for this clause
and correct me if I'm wrong in some assumptions?

But above that, you pay 0.035% brokerage fee compared to 0.1% brokerage fee for Jupiter Securities

and how long 0.035% brokerage fee on ambank? 1 month too?

Read the Product Disclosure Sheet
Most important how stable is their Trading Portal.

Also "Enjoy interest/profit payable for cash balances of RM2K and above in Trading Account." Jupiter can still earn 1.85% for any balance

AmeSecurities are very "sneaky" on their Trading Limit.
If your trade > amount in Trading Limit, you will be charged 0.35% brokerage fee

Eg.
Trading Limit : RM10000
Stock Purchase + Fees : RM10050 (you will be charged 0.35% brokerage instead of RM6).

Make sure you calculate before hand how much fees you need to pay.

So U're saying if I've deposited say RM50,000 in Jupiter's Trust Ac and I bought a stock costing RM30,000(incl all the brokerage, stamping n clearing expenses), I would now only have RM20,000 left to buy more stocks ?
*
Jupiter's Cash Upfront account will never allow you to trade higher than your Trading Limit (minus all fees).
Eg. you deposit RM10,000 into Jupiter's Trust Account, you will get Trading Limit about RM9977
RM23 is consider as charges & fees if you bought RM10k worth of shares.

My worry is there could be some mistake in my Trading Limit. I deposited RM42,000 and have bought RM41,000 in 8 trades over a period of about 2 weeks but my trading limit now is RM32,000. By right, it should only be RM1,000. I'm using cash upfront.
*
In that case your account type = Cash Upfront + Share Collateral .... this will charge 0.35% brokerage on the next trade >RM1000 (+charges).
This is how "sneaky" AmeSecurities are... thus be careful.

Call up to chnage to pure Cash Upfront... then you only see RM1000 as Trading Limit.
Also this Trading Limit excludes fees .... be careful not to over buy, else will be charged 0.35% brokerage fee

Thanks smile.gif

In the same day and same counter, only one brokerage fee based on total shares purchased.

Okay. So, even the first order has been executed, only one brokerage fee will be charged for the same counter. Is that correct?
*
Let's say
1. Order matched for SUMATEC 1000 shares at 10am
2. Order matched for SUMATEC 3000 shares at 11am
3. Order matched for SUMATEC 1600 shares at 2pm

Your brokerage fee is based on 5600 shares of SUMATEC done for today.

86.72 is your TRADING LIMIT

U deposit RM100

If they let u buy RM100 worth of stocks, who's gonna pay the brokerage and other fees??? shakehead.gif

Difference between trading limit and account balance is to cover the fees.

Ur account balance will be zero now, by next day u will see your RM100
*
Do you know how Jupiter Securities derive the figure RM86.72 for the RM100 deposited ?

I transferred rm4000 to my trading account via online bill payment. However my trading limit only rm3975.80. How much %do they charge to transfer money to our accounts?
*
Jupiter uses a formula which takes into consideration brokerage fee, stamp duty, clearing fees

RM3975.80 + RM10 + RM3 + RM1.20 ~ RM3990

I didn't receive the email (with temp password)because I had register before on i*Trade. Didn't know I did previously

After multiple calls unanswered to 03-26356868, I managed to talk to the CS agent.
Once I've sorted my "original username" and reset the password. my Jupiter Portfolio & Trust money was activated after 24 hours.I receive an sms once the Trading Account is active)
