It won't cause last year he didn't play. He sounds abit tired.. Some rest is good for him.. as long as he doesn't REST too long.

i dont think they will protest,just look at event like SUKMA and Commonwealth,they not protest this kind of event even some Muslim athletes wear bikini for swim or gymnastic,i think they just focus on protest concert

Federer may opt not to enter any tournaments for year including year end Masters in Shangai and incuur huge fines, his reasoning behind it, he wants to be completely rested to accomplish his goals, breaking Pete's record, winning the French Open.Now thats thinking ahead.
