Its now 4.39pm, and i've just read that the new iTunes 7.7 and Iphone 2.0 is out.

I guess now is the time to hope and pray your iPhone doesn't die on you. I just got mine and 'activated' it 2 days ago.

So i hope we'll be hearing from the creator of Ziphone and other programers to crack 2.0...

I'm a little hesitant about upgrading to Version 2.0, even if eventually the devs update their unlocking methods.

There are so many apps on v1.1.4 that I'll miss and I'm not entirely sure if they will be compatible with Version 2.0. Then again, I can always try and report back on the apps that don't work and downgrade if I really can't stand it. But I'll let someone else be the guinea pig hehe..

Yup ... just downloaded and installed itunes 7.7. Tried to download app from appstore and succeeded. Now just have to wait for FW2.0.

i know its there.. the problem is after i load up the page.. the left section where i usually choose which version to download shows me the 404 page not found error.. thats why i said it earlier my DNS F'ed up

Last time, hacking iPhone 1.0.x and 1.1.1 was really PAINFUL. All those command line typings and executable files and java apps ... sigh !

Then started with the JailbreakMe TIFF exploit website that came along and it all got super duper easier, followed by Ziphone , Pwnage .. etc etc. Phew !!

Woah woah, just adding this so that the newbies don't read this, see the links and proceed to update to version 2.0. Give it a few weeks, wait for the tools to be released, let the brave hearts be the guinea pigs and when everything seems safe, do the upgrade.

Come on, you know it's the only sensible thing to do, hehe..

I am pretty sure everyone is interested on upgrading to FW2.0. How about creating a thread on the steps on upgrading it? For example like procedure to unlock and jailbreak, etc. (Once there is a way to jailbreak it though)

waiting for pwnage tool 1.2 now. When will dev team releasing it. I am on 1.2.0 beta 3 and i am struggling without free apps stock iphone is no fun.

Yup the IPSW (5A347) are not meant for 1st gen iPhone. Some reported it hangs and unstable.

The moment the Malaysian iTunes store starts offering purchases beyond Apps is the time when you will see Malaysia getting its own iPhone and iPhone activation. Typical for things around here to go on its accustomed pace: sloth-like slow.

Just posted on Gizmodo, Firmware 2.0 is now available on iTunes itself. Pre-download it and WAIT until the unlock is made available.

EDIt:Funny, still says 1.1.4 as the latest. Even a couple of Gizmodo posters from NYC still not getting 2.0. Did Apple withdraw it again?

If it is anything like the iPod games, you'd have to select the Apps with checkmarks on the App tab, possibly.

Just some info on the earlier post.

The firmware for 1st Gen iphone is iPhone1,1_2.0_5A347_Restore.ipsw release today while

the firmware for 3G iphone is iPhone1,2_2.0_5A347_Restore.ipsw which was release yesterday on apple server.

The difference is on the iPhone1,1_2 and 1,2_2 digits. Sorry for not posting this earlier.

Not unlocked, how are we supposed to use the phone after it is updated to firmware 2.0 ? what's the point of updating the firmware before any release of any unlock/activate tools

No one install also,we download and prepare only...

haha i haven't download it but many are preparing for the upgrade.. i suggest anyone that wants to do a firmware upgrade the minute a jailbreak method is successful should download it and keep as the file is about 200mb ><

i actually hav an olympus but in my hometown.. so find some other alternative rather than buying another camera..
