er maztt, i dont think any of the replays from the local WCG are there mate. what linkin is talking about is, someone else asked about replays, and linkin told that person that there wont be any replays until the grand finals. and then the second fella comes in and asks the same question.

to anyone else, i'm just double checking, perhaps i missed it as i was straining my eyes to read it, but i couldnt find the replays at Garena. was it just me or is it memang not there?

Actually I searched this thread using 'replay' and 'replays' keywords, and the results showed that only Z2I asked for the replays and no one else. Z2I asked the organizers anyhow.

Strife, would you be kind enough to point me to Garena's thread ? As i cant find the link. Thanks in advance !

WCG malaysia so far has never posted any replays, even for the previous years and even after the grand finals...

I hope the organizers will be able to do so this year around.

as for linkinstreet, i think i know why you didnt find anything. the first person to ask was asking about CS demos, which are basically replays recorded in the GoldSrc engine.

but iguess they should post replays for us, not like it takes up a lot of bandwidth anyways. it would be a nice change, and at least we can study the game play.

Well every year we have the same question, and the answer is the same. We (as gamers and media) are contractually obliged NOT TO RELEASE the replays before the grand finals. For us (multiplay.lowyat.net), we have recording of all the final matches (except CS when our camera ran out of battery) and we can only give it to the gamer that participated in THAT final. This is to prevent leakage to other countries.
Whoever had the replays and decided to release it BEFORE the grand finals, well you are not abiding to the rules, and may god have mercy on your soul

ah, i see. so thats the reason behind it. i didnt know you guys (the media) had access to those replays as well.

edit: wait a min, by replays we're talking about videos and stuff that we take at the tourney eh?

replays of the finals. The media cannot take it from the organizers, but only we are allowed to record it using handycam or such. For the official replays, ONLY THE GAMERS THAT PARTICIPATED IN THE FINALS can have access to it. For FIFA usually they let the winning clan copy it (in this case w|nds) but they are really strict about letting others getting hold of it

okay fair enough... now I would jz like to know if the replays will ever get released AFTER the WCG Grand Finals later this year...
