QUOTE(Luftwacko @ Jul 27 2008, 07:54 PM) Same game every year. It's not that I have a problem with what the majority enjoys, it's just that I'm not the kind of guy who has the loyalty to stick to the same game for years. caused those are the games voted by gamers to be included in wcg i guess..Just my 2 cents |

QUOTE Year after year, local organizers are still repeating mistakes that were executed almost ceremonially. You may call it ego or maybe lack of perception on the wants and needs, but after so many years when bad goes to worse; even the blind knows that it is a sure tell tale signs that nothing is working. i dunno ,i dunno how to build constructive sentences , so just assume im lazy to think, but last year i just felt tat it suck,i mean , year after year the prize getting lower n lower n lesser number of ppl joining or spectating.even prelimnaries r gone, but i know tats cause by something else, not the organizer fault. maybe its just our malaysian bad habit, every year just sit n wait for durian season to comeUnfortunately they almost every time do not want to admit that they suck at organizing any game tournaments. More and more marketing ringgits and sponsorships funds were wasted on cosmetics and invested in conventional mediums that are not penetrative to the general public. |

For example FIFA is getting bigger every year. But other games like Starcraft are not doing so well bcoz there are less ppl play in Malaysia. But they shld not be neglected in any way coz last year James Rambo did well in USA. We have the talent and ability to shine but we just need the opportunity. Talking bout which games to add, this is solely base on votes. Its not jst Malaysia votes that counts, its the whole world votes. So if the majority ppl in d world not playing a certain games, it would not b played. And at least they still can manage to send all the games to grand final. Other countries oso facing the same problem as well even our fren down in WCG Singapore couldnt even send all the games to the grand final. I felt that ur statement towards WCG team alone is unfair. Compare to all the tourney in Malaysia, WCG is still one of the best. All the tourney are facing the same prob but for omost 7 years in a row they still manage to send all d champs for d grand final. In fact they still held another qualifier for WCG Asia during WCG Kick Off to allow others to challenge the spot to rep Malaysia in Singapore next month. And all d champs are fully sponsored. Some tourneys were great in d 1st year but went missing years later. Some dun even hv a proper prizes to give away until they have to give sumthg which is only valuable during raining season. This is their pros. But their cons is the promoting part. I feel that although WCG is a well known event in Malaysia but the promotion must never stop. For example the WCG prelim. There were not much promoting done for the event. Most are thru the forums. Plus the WCG banner were only up when the WCG prelim started. It shld have been up 1-2 weeks earlier at each respective CC to generate hype and to let others to be aware of the prelim. Plus there were no follow up after WCG end which i find it quite sad. It would b better if the hype generated from the event will be continuously used for next year. This will create more newcomers to come and the veterans to stay. It is a nature that people always need to b reminded so the promotion must go on the whole year. Although gamers and the gaming trend were to b blame a part of it but this is sumthg not impossible to be solve. Gamers oso must take this opportunity which one day will die if there is no support from the gamers. But i would like to hear as well from the organizing team why the above prob occur every year. My final take, dun jst simply bang. Give constructive critics. Let them and every organizers noe what they need to improve. They are willing to listen. the advertisment cost a bomb.
the banner need to get permit a.s.a.p well, no harm teasing right? WCG able to send all champ bcoz our game is limited. others country wouldnt send all champ bcoz they having too many games to participate, that obviously depends on occasion and country. (FYI, above is my thought) organizing team would say the word below: ( do note, just a teasing comments) The sponsor wont pay money after the event, it may wait longer than what you expected. They only pay partially(down payment) for event company to run. Why would it turn sux? they would say, you think the sponsor so hard to get mehh?? we even need to knee down to beg for sponsor. TO MAKE IT SUCCESSFUL, we need gold medal, this all depends on you jali and others hardcore gamers. as they already sent champs to grand finals, they expected result to be shown. after the result is shown, goverment would take initiative to promote electronic gaming. nah...i just luv to bang.....i wouldnt give any construtive idea, coz they would flame back. Do note construtive idea come from example. |
